  • CRE NEWSSTUCOOur new Student Council members were commissioned at the 8:15 Liturgy yesterday. They are: Kyle M, Bobby B, Caroline S, Brogan T, Ashleigh H, Lindsey A, Mark W, Spencer S, Tyler F, Anya W, Micaela U, Kate W, Jacob F, Billy W.

These students were chosen by their classmates. They will dedicate many hours of time to help with service and entertainment for the student body. Please pray for these young leaders.

Beginning in September, we will begin announcing feast days and birthdays along with our morning intercom prayer. If you wish to place anyone’s name on our prayer list, either have your child come to me or you can send me a Fast Direct or phone me. We all are aware of the power of prayer.

In September, we begin our Monday morning procession of the Blessed Mother. Each week a classroom has the Blessed Mother statue. During that week, they are asked to say extra prayers in petition or thanksgiving to our Lady. It is a wonderful way for our children to learn to pray and believe in devotion in their everyday lives. May we all remember to pray to our Blessed Mother each day.

    Many blessings,Enjoy each day!MaryJo Ponder

Mass in the GrassOn Saturday, October 3, 2015 the 5:00 pm Mass will be held on the back ball fields in conjunction with the Chili Cook-Off and the Parish Bonfire.

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE AND JOIN US AS OUR PARISH COMES TOGETHER IN LITURGY AND COMMUNITY.

HOME & SCHOOL NEWSSCRIP Program - Help NeededParish fundraising program - SCRIP is in need of volunteers to help sell gift cards after Mass! Can you spare 25 minutes of your time, once every 4 weeks? The SCRIP program is looking for parishioners to help work a shift after Mass - Open time slots for 5 pm, 7 am or 11 am Mass. If you would like to find out more, please contact Gia Thomas: 314-853-8940.

Major Retailers Want to GiveOur Parish Money!

Welcome back! I wanted to take this opportunity to re-introduce an easy fundraising program offered through our parish.

Some of you may be familiar with “Together We’re Better” certificates. The program is currently known as Scrip and instead of paper certificates, we sell gift cards. We sell gift cards from national and local retailers - Shop ‘n Save, Dierbergs, Kohls, JCPenney, Gap, Shell, Mobil, Subway, St. Louis Bread Company, Tim Horton’s, Bass Pro, Cabela’s, Barnes & Noble, American Girl, Claire’s, and many, many others.

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our parish without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip and make purchases at participating stores! The gift cards are available for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline, and travel and even dining out.

You can purchase gift cards online (www.shopwithscrip.com) or in the Simon room after all weekend Masses. Look for additional information in your kiddo’s back pack in early September.

    Thank you for your support!

    Sincerely,

    Gia Thomas(Scrip Coordinator)

  • Reporting an AbsenceJust a reminder, to report an absence in the morning please call ext. 201 and leave a message for our nurse, Mrs. Abeln.

FORGOTTEN ITEMS AFTER SCHOOLIf your child has forgotten a book, homework, their sport items, etc. they will only be allowed to get the items until 3:30 pm. No one is allowed to come into the building after 3:30 pm to get these items. This includes during PSR time on Monday nights. We ask for your support regarding this rule. Children learn from their parents. When parents follow the rules your children will learn from your example.

  • Backpack Buddies Program Thank you for supporting our Backpack Buddies program which supports 35-50 kids in the Hancock School District. These children receive free breakfast and lunches through Hancock. Evening and weekends food is very sparse, if there is any at all. Our backpack donations have allowed them to have food during times when they normally would not. Our 7th and 8th grade students hand deliver the food weekly to Hancock. To hear their testimonials warms your heart and opens your eyes to what a powerful program this is. All grades will participate in the packing of the backpacks each week. It is incredible to see some of the kids carefully select what they are packing to make sure their backpack buddy gets the best!

Our first collection of the school year will be Wednesday, September 30. We are asking that each child donate $5 to our Backpack Food Pantry. In donating your child will be allowed to dress down on Wednesday, September 30. Please contact Nicki Wobbe ([email protected]) with any questions or issues regarding the Backpack Buddies Program or call Mrs. Wrablik in the school office at 314-842-3848, ext. 200. Your donations are greatly appreciated!!!
