Golf NewsWe will have our New member/member golf mixer on Sunday, October 14th. Golfers will play a 9-hole scramble starting at 3:00. For members who can’t make it for golf, the party starts at 5:30 at the Tiki Hut. Live entertainment will also be provided and we will be featuring Greg Billings of the Greg Billings Band. He and his acoustic set partner will entertain us playing classic rock and original Florida rock-n-roll songs We will mix the pairings with all players, you can request a pairing of two players of the team. The beverage cart will be rolling and the fun will be rocking. Please sign up early.
The Ladies’ Member-Guest will be Tuesday November 6th. Play will begin with a 9:00 shotgun start. The ladies will also have a practice round on Monday, November 5th, 1:00 shotgun. The afternoon non-tournament play on Tuesday will begin at approximately 1:30 after the completion of the tournament. Please do not leave early to go out for the afternoon shotgun, the pro shop staff will make an announcement for players to depart for their hole assignments.
The Men’s Member-Guest will be played November 9th & 10th with the practice round on Thursday November 8th. The format is 9-Hole Matches with the Flight winners playing for the championship in a three-hole shootout. The course will be closed for tournament play Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Teams will play three matches on Friday starting at 9:00 and two matches on Saturday at 9:00 with the Shootout following lunch. We have the senior flight for players 70 years of age and older who only want to play 18 holes each day (four 9-hole matches). The flight winner of that flight will also gain a spot in the Championship Shoot-Out.
Our member-member October 27th is a fun event with the Pinehurst Alternate-Shot format. Both players tee off, hit each other’s tee shot then select the best position and alternate until the shot is holed. We will have side games and breakfast is available while lunch will be served following play. The start is a 9:00 shotgun.

AROUND THE CLUB 11
Message from MembershipWe are looking forward to another great month at the Club! October is a transitional time as summer memberships wind down, and we begin to welcome back many of our members that travel back to Florida each season to enjoy golf and tennis during the warm winter months. For those of you that renew annually for our summer program, we thank you for choosing us as your club home and look forward to seeing you again in the spring. If you have any changes in your contact information, please let me know because I will send out correspondence very soon to outline options for year round membership as well if you would like to explore that opportunity. We would certainly love to have you with us all year long! Make sure to let your friends know that this is also a great time to try the club for the first time. Our newest age categories beginning at age 20 make it easier than ever to have a club membership!
Please mark your calendars for a really fun event on Sunday, October 14th. We will be hosting a “Member Golf Mixer” that will begin at 3pm with a 9-Hole Scramble. We will pair our newest members with those of you that have been enjoying the course for years! Make sure to stick around after play for appetizers, drinks, and music by Greg Billings at The Tiki. Many of you have been to Greg’s shows, but if you haven’t had a chance…this is a great
opportunity to see his amazing talent! This social is a great way to welcome many of our newest golf members to the club, hang out with old friends, and enjoy the afternoon! Make sure to reserve your spot by calling the golf shop at 864-1595.
Have you heard about “Nine and Wine” yet? The “Nine and Wine” Ladies Sundowners series gives interested members a chance to improve their golf games in a FUN and nurturing environment. Even if you haven’t played golf before, this is your chance to be introduced to the game. We had our first one this week, and I can tell you that we had the BEST time. This will run through the month of October on Thursday afternoons beginning at 4:30 pm. You can email directly at [email protected] to rsvp for the weekly event.
Please feel free to contact me anytime for questions about your memberships or any upcoming activities. I look forward to seeing all of you very soon.
