The Sanctuary Candle burns in memory of
Andrew Becker
The Blessed Mother Candle burns in memory of
Dec. Members of Becker Family
The St. Joseph Candle burns in memory of
Charles J. Becker, Jr.
Can you picture this meeting between Mary and Elizabeth in your head? A young girl greets an elderly woman, and both are improbably pregnant. This scene could hardly be more unassuming. No one would expect that God’s magnificent plan to conquer sin and death is right here in the bodies of these two women. What about Mary’s response, not included in today’s Gospel read-ing? “My soul glorifies the Lord, and my Spirit rejoices in God my Savior…” We know this is a moment that is going to change history – this canticle that Mary sings is about justice, not motherhood. The mighty will be cast down, and the lowly lifted up. The balance of pow-er is about to shift so dramatically that nothing will ever be the same on this earth. Amazingly, it is these two babies that will disrupt the world. No wonder John the future baptizer leaps in his mother’s womb! Babies still have this very same power – how do they destabi-lize their families, communities, and the future? The words of the song “Mary Did You Know” by Mark Lowry come to mind: Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water? Mary, did you know that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know that your Baby Boy has come to make you new? This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you. Mary, did you know… the blind will see. The deaf will hear. The dead will live again. The lame will leap. The dumb will speak, the praises of the Lamb. A song not about motherhood, but a song of justice and redemption – a story not about motherhood, but a story of justice and redemption. I am also drawn to the 1st reading from Micah because of the mention of Bethlehem. Bethlehem is a special place for me because my parents grew up there, met at Bethlehem Steele, and married there. We still have family and great memory connections there. Although I have never been to the real Bethlehem, I have heard that it is still today an unremarkable small town. Yet again, God works in His mysterious ways – David, the greatest king Israel ever had, had his humble beginnings in Bethlehem as a shepherd. Jesus, too, who would be King of Kings, would be born in this unimpressive place among animals, his arrival unwelcomed by innkeepers, but celebrat-ed by angels, shepherds, & the wise. Who would imagine a place like Bethlehem would matter? Who would imagine that two simple women and their babies would change the face of the earth?
Enjoy these last days of Advent and Merry Christmas to you and your
families.
Go Warriors!
Ms. O’Donnell, Principal

Pro-Life March ~ Friday, January 22nd
Save the Date
Each year members of our parish
community travel to Washington
D.C. for the annual March for Life.
The peaceful demonstration on this
somber anniversary every year since
1973 is a witness to the truth concerning the
greatest human rights violation of our time,
abortion.
If you would like to attend the March for
Life….Save the Date! You may also contact Diane
Kushner at 610-240-9204 or [email protected].

All the PREP Staff and Catechists wish you a Blessed Christmas and a Joyous New Year!
Thank You to all those who attended the
Advent/Christmas Concert last week.
It was a beautiful celebration of our
faith, our waiting during this Advent
Season and the inspiration of our par-
ish community. John Angotti was
spectacular, but it was our Adult,
Youth and Children’s Choirs who
shined brightly….they were the stars of the show.
Thank you to Katey Engel for preparing our talented
choirs. This was a huge endeavor, taking on music very
different from what we may be accustomed. However, the
choirs made all of us proud and helped us to “Prepare the
way of the Lord”. !

Prayer for Jubilee Year of Mercy
Lord Jesus Christ, you are the Father’s mercy for us. In mercy, you freed Zaccheus and Matthew from greed. In mercy, you freed Peter from dishonesty and cowardice. In mercy, you promised heaven to the good thief. In mercy, you gave weakness to your ministers so we can come to you easily in them.
Draw us close to you, Jesus, and shine your mercy on our sins. Like the woman who washed your feet with her own tears, make us love more than ever because you forgive us. Amen.
