Dear Parents,
Currently teachers are very busy preparing student reports. These reports
provide a summary of your child’s achievement over the semester. In
preparing these reports teachers make judgements based upon the work your
child completes in the classroom in all curriculum areas. These judgements
are based on many pieces of evidence (work samples) rather than a sole test
result or assignment.
At St Patrick’s we fulfil our reporting requirements by completing two written reports each year at the
end of semester 1 and 2. Along with the opportunity for parent teacher interviews at the beginning of the
year, end of semester 1 and semester 2 we believe parents are well informed about the progress of their
child throughout the year.
This semester your report will be sent home with your child on Monday June 22. As committed parents,
it is expected that you make time to meet with your child’s teacher. This interview allows time to
communicate your child’s achievements, and also discuss areas where they may need help. This is
important as often the report is unable to go into detail about these aspects.
Enrolment for the parent teacher interviews will again be made through PTO (Parent Teacher Online)
which is an online booking system available through a link on the St Patrick’s website. This will be open
for bookings next Tuesday. If you are unable to access the internet, parents can contact the office to
book in a time.
External School Review
Next Wednesday a panel will be visiting St Patrick’s to conduct an external school review. The external
review is part of our school renewal process aimed at ensuring our school is compliant but more
importantly improving the quality of education we provide for our community. The school renewal
process involves annual preparation and review of school goals as well reviewing components. The
external review occurs every five years.
During the day the panel will meet with staff, students, parents, and Fr Nigel to ensure all relevant
stakeholders have input in the review process. The P&F committee have been invited to meet with the
panel as parent representatives.
If you would like further information regarding our school renewal process, please feel free to speak to
me.
Have a great week,

APRE REFLECTIONS AND REVELATIONS
Dear Parents,
Another busy fortnight has passed by, bringing us to Week 8.
It was good to have a long weekend to re-energise for the last couple of weeks of term.
Sacraments
On Sunday 31st May, two of our students, Emily and Angus Don-
aldson, completed the Sacraments of Initiation by being confirmed
and making their First Holy Communion. Congratulations to both
children on this wonderful achievement in their lives.
Class Masses
Please note that the LG4 mass which was to be held this Thursday at 9am has been postponed until
next Thursday.
LG2 Mass – Thank you to Mrs Gerrard and the students of LG2 for a wonderful mass last Thursday.
Even though I was unable to be there, I hear that you all did a great job, especially singing your song
‘I’m So Special’.
Have a great
fortnight. Good luck to the Blues next week

This fortnight in Program Achieve students completed their study of Organisation.
Lower Primary
This week in Lower Primary, students have been learning to:
· list what they have learned about getting organized; and
· state as goals areas where the whole class needs to be better organised.
Middle Primary
This week in Middle Primary, students have been learning how to:
· to create daily task lists;
· to distinguish between difficult and easy tasks;
· the usefulness of doing unpleasant, difficult tasks before doing pleasurable, easy tasks;
· to plan assignments by breaking down long term tasks into simpler steps (task analysis) and
scheduling each step on a monthly assignment calendar (time planning);
· to state how the “Planning My Time” way of thinking helps them to be organized;
· to recall basic elements of organization; and
· to set a goal for one or more areas of organisation for self-improvement.
Upper Primary
This week in Upper Primary, students have been learning to:
· state the importance of making lists and will be able to make list daily task to be done;
· create their own lists of daily activities to be done;
· priorities tasks according to their importance; and
· break down large tasks into small components (task analysis).

L G2 Winter has arrived in LG2. Our visual arts last week was
exploring colour mixtures and dropper and spatter painting. We
had fun using different techniques to create our piece of art.

purpose. Every student has been researching recipes
and designing a tasteful menu for Kanyaka Kitchen. We are
looking forward to sharing our menus with the St Patrick’s
community.
