“...Rather, we wanted to present ourselves as a model for you, so that you might imitate us.”
— 2 Thessalonians 3:9
Most people who live a grateful and generous lifestyle don’t go around bragging about it. But
through their actions and words, others do take notice. They notice because of the joy
and peace that results and other people desire this in their own life. Know that the way you
live your life may be the only interaction others have with our Catholic faith.

this year’s DSF? We thank you for your generosity and support of more than 60 ministries within our archdio-cese! If you have not had the opportunity to donate to the DSF this year, please fill out a pew envelope or go visit www.archgh.org/dsf.

We Welcome into the Catholic Church, through the Sacrament of Baptism...
17 people were helped in September 2019 for a total of $2,065.33 in service expenses. 11 people were helped in October 2019 for a total of $891.50.
SVdP thanks you for your support.
The St. Michael SVdP Society reports each month the total people helped and the total dollar amount of the service expenses provided to those in need. This shows how mon-ies donated to SVdP are being spent in helping those in need. Without your help, they would not have the funding to help those suffering from a financial crisis. If you would like to join this gratifying organization—ALL ARE WELCOME!

OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO…
We offer our prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Tillie Svoboda who
passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019.
May she rest in peace, and may her family and friends find hope and consolation in the
loving arms of the Lord.
Thank you to all of those parishioners who have already contributed to the IGNITE Campaign.
33% of all funds raised up to our goal will come back to the parish! We need everyone to contribute to this endeavor in order to be successful! The campaign is based on equal sacrifice, not equal giving. All gifts, no matter the
size, are needed and greatly appreciated! The smallest sacrifices, over time, equal a significant contribution to our cam-
paign. Examples of other families’ sacrifices: $1.75 coffee a day x 30 days in a month = $52.50 monthly pledge $13.99 pizza per week x 52 weeks = $727.50
yearly pledge $50 restaurant meal each month x 48 months = $2,400 4-year commitment Total Commitment

Confirmation & First Communion Candidates must have a sincere intention of participating in Mass every week. Participating in the Eucharistic life of the community is both a privilege and an obligation of baptized Catholics. This is also an important way that parents demon-strate to their children the importance they place on their faith they want to pass on to their children. When we worship as a community, we build up the Body of Christ.
Confirmation & First Communion Mass attendance cards are found on
the back table in both churches. Please fill one out each week and
drop it into the box.

Volunteers are needed to help with check-in, seating, gift distribution and table service. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Darlene Lutz at (832) 651-8128 or email [email protected]. If you currently serve on one of the St. Michael’s cooking teams, please mark your calendars now! Both teams will be needed in the kitchen that day.
Join us for a Winter Wonderland Friday, December 6th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Michael’s Courtyard & Parish Hall. Families will enjoy walking through our indoor Winter Wonderland Christmas Light Display. As you end your walk, you will enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and cookie while deco-rating an ornament for your family tree. We ask that each person make a donation of 1 canned food item for the Needville Food Bank or 1 Toy/Stuffed Animal for the Blue
Santa Program. Monetary donations will also be accepted. *Winter Wonderland is made possible by generous donations of parish families and the members of the St. Michael’s Youth Council and various volunteers.

As a parish, we are grateful to those parishioners who give of their time serving in a ministry during Mass. In recent months we have experienced a significant amount of liturgical minister no-shows. The ministry schedule is published in the bulletin the weekend prior to the first weekend of the next month. Be sure to notify the parish office at (979) 742-3383 of any known scheduling issues, such as vacations, business, etc. that would make you unavailable on a certain day or time period for the coming month, so the schedule may be prepared appropriately. Please report NO LATER than 15 minutes prior to the Mass start time. This will reduce the turmoil that arises in trying to find a replacement in such a very short notice. It is your responsibility to attempt to find a replacement when you are scheduled but cannot serve. A list of all the ministers and their phone numbers can be found in the Priest’s Sacristy. You can use this list to help find a replacement. If you are not assigned to help at Mass that day and would like to assist if needed, please check in before Mass begins. Appearance is important in the Church. We encourage you to always dress like you have come to do something important, that is, to worship God. That way if you need to fill in as a minister, you will be properly dressed. Thanks for doing what you are doing. It is a great service to the parish and all of the effort you make is deeply appreciated.
*If anyone is interested in volunteering for any of our ministries or have questions, please contact the Parish Office at (979) 742-3383.
