Board of Trustees UpdateTerm 3 is now well underway and has been a busy one for

staff and students. The BOT has welcomed Frazer Munro to the Board following the resignation of Mike Hide. Frazer has some great skills which we hope to utilise, especially in the strategic planning area. It is always great to have fresh input into how we operate and a different view on where we move to.

Thanks to Ange Hide who facilitated the parent information evening on Google Docs and how the staff envisage these being useful in our day to day learning. We hope those who attended found this useful. It is greatly appreciated that we have staff who are able to ensure the funds invested in technology for the students is utilised to its full potential.

You will also be aware of the new staff appointment which has been made by the BOT. Mel Thatcher will take up the position of Learning Leader and teacher in the senior school at the beginning of Term 4. We look forward to welcoming Mel to our school community.

The greatest challenge for the BOT continues to be the Long Term Property Plan for our school. We were recently disappointed to see a plan from the Diocese regarding when we could expect to have some investment in the school infrastructure. This plan advised we would be unlikely to receive any funding for property works until 2026. This plan is similar for other Catholic schools in the South Canterbury area. We find this unacceptable and will continue to work with other affected schools to have more detail around exactly what our needs are in regards to property and to expedite the availability of funding to ensure our schools are not negatively affected by these decisions.
