ADULT FAITH FORMATION
Divine Mercy Sunday Holy Hour - A Holy Hour will held today, April 8, at 3:00 PM at St. Joseph to celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. There will be readings from scripture, time for silent prayer, recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet, with Benediction will taking place at 4:00 PM. Everyone is welcome.

Women’s Connection
Support and friendship group for widows of the parish. The next meeting will be Thursday, April 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the LLL at St. Joseph School. Carol Hodgden will be sharing her quilts with us. Director of Adult Faith Forma!on
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marion, IA, a two thousand family
parish, is seeking an Adult Faith Forma!on Director. The
candidate must be a prac!cing Catholic with a Bachelor's Degree
or higher in Theology or a related field. A Master’s Degree is
preferred.
The Director will work as a team member with pastor and staff,
direct the RCIA process, administer and develop adult faith
forma!on programs and materials, teach and meet the
ongoing adult educa!onal needs of the parish. A familiarity with
digital technology would be beneficial.

Needed: Singers with love of music, enthusiasm and voices to praise the Lord! Our Jubilation choir is open to singers who are teenagers through adults of all ages! We would love to add some new voices and personalities to the mix. Rehearsals will begin again the Thursday after Easter, and be held in April on Thursday April 19 & April 26 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Church. Catholic Laymen’s Club
The Catholic Laymen’s Club has been meeting since 1954. They meet every Friday noon in the Katz Room at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Both spiritual and
financial support is provided to seminarians in the

Time to celebrate the Dedication of the Marion Habitat House. St Joseph's has been invited to the Marion home dedication when the keys will be handed over to the new homebuyer, the Jean Bosco and Suzana Ndayisenga family. The dedication is on Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 PM, at the house located at 282 22nd St, Marion. They have expressed their appreciation for our support to this

Divine Mercy Sunday—was instituted as the Second Sunday of Easter by St.
John Paul II through the influence of St. Faustina. As the title of the day states,
the universal Church reflects upon the mercy of God ministered to us through
the death and resurrection of Jesus. St. John Paul II wrote of this shortly before
his death, “As a gift to humanity, which sometimes seems bewildered and
overwhelmed by the power of evil, selfishness, and fear, the Risen Lord offers
His love that pardons, reconciles, and reopens hearts to love. It is love that
converts hearts and gives peace. How much the world needs to understand and accept Divine Mercy!”
You are invited to be part of the Divine Mercy Hour here at the church starting at 3 PM, on Sunday,
April 8. A time of Eucharistic adoration will occur and the Divine Mercy Chaplet will be prayed.
Seminarian Summer Placement—Starting in late May through most of the summer, Archdiocesan
seminarian Joshua Link will be with us as a newly ordained transitional deacon. You will be given the
opportunity to help him to minister to you as a deacon in preparation for his ordination to the
priesthood next year. Joshua is currently a third year theology student at Mundelein Seminary and is a
classmate of Tyler Raymond who is a native of our parish. Hailing from St. Joseph, Key West, IA,
located just outside of Dubuque, Joshua is a graduate of Loras College. I look forward to us welcoming
him to the parish and ministry in our midst this summer.
Archdiocesan Priest Assignments—are scheduled to be formally announced in the April 15 edition
of The Witness. The Archbishop has renewed my assignment here as pastor of St. Joseph. All
reassignments will not appear in The Witness, only new ones.

Ok, God: Now What?--An Archdiocesan Retreat for Young Adult Women, ages 21-30+, on everyday
discernment in their lives will occur on Saturday, April 28, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. (5:00 p.m. Mass, followed
by optional dinner), at the Hartman Reserve Nature Center, Cedar Falls, IA. A suggested donation for the

Pope Francis Requests that the Church Pray for Vocations--on Sunday, April 22. Let us pray for the
hearts of men and women everywhere to be open to God's plan, encourage our fellow parishioners to pray
