CHRISTMAS PRAYER
Let Your goodness Lord appear to us, that we made in your image, conform ourselves to it. In our own strength we cannot imitate Your majesty, power, and wonder nor is it fitting for us to try. But Your mercy reaches from the heavens through the clouds to the earth below. You have come to us as a small child, but you have brought us the greatest of all gifts, the gift of eternal love Caress us with Your tiny hands, embrace us with Your tiny arms and pierce our hearts with Your soft, sweet cries. St. Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153
NEW YEAR PRAYER (www.catholicdoors.com)
Dear Lord, We pray that this New Year will bring us closer to You. May we take the time to get to know You. Help us to truly celebrate the gifts You have graciously given us
and use them to serve You and spread Your word, May we also see and love you in all the people we meet, so that in turn, they can see You in us. We know that all human relations take time if they are to grow and deepen. This is also true of our relations with You, the Father and the Holy Spirit, which must grow over the course of our lives. In this new year, let us realise that every action of ours no matter how great or small enables us to be in touch with You. Let us accept You in our lives, in the way it pleases You, as Truth, to be spoken, as Life, to be lived, as Light, to be lighted, as Love, to be followed, as Joy, to be given, as Peace, to be spread about, as Sacrifice, to be offered among our relatives, friends, neighbours and all people.
Amen.

December 20th: Fourth Sunday of Advent
St. John the Baptist leapt in the womb as he encountered
Jesus for the first time. Each time we go to Reconciliation
we have an intimate encounter with our Lord, one in which
we should leap for joy as we experience God’s mercy and
love. Action: Mary and Elizabeth greeted one another with a hug and
kiss. In Reconciliation we receive that ultimate hug from God. Share
God’s hug with others.

Dear Parishioners,
Recently, the following saying has caught my eye:
“When it is Christmas, each time you let God love
others through your faith, it is Christmas time,
each time you smile at someone and offer him your
hand and your heart.”
In this Holy time we extend good wishes and share our gifts with our Family
and Friends. Let us also take time to pause and acknowledge that we have
received the greatest Gift from the Father in Heaven; Jesus, the Saviour of
the World. May He spur us on, self-giving to others in small ways, that His
Love inspires us in this time of grace and especially in the
Jubilee Year of Mercy. This is my wish and prayer for
you all.
