**My thanks and appreciation to all of you who sponsored me for the “Walk for Life” to benefit the South Texas Pregnancy Center. Your donations were a positive affirmation to be “Pro-Life”. God Bless you and I hope to have results in the next bulletin. **Please take advantage to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Lent. Both Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. James have posted confession times in the bulletin. **My Thanks to Glen & Irene Braune for taking pictures of both our Ash Wednesday service and our 100th Anniversary. FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT
The summit of the Liturgical Year is the Easter Triduum—from the evening of Holy Thursday to the evening of Easter Sunday. Though chronologically three days, they are liturgically one day unfolding for us the unity of Christ's Paschal Mystery. The single celebration of the Triduum marks the end of the Lenten season, and leads to the Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord at the Easter Vigil. The liturgical services that take place during the Triduum are: Mass of the Lord's Supper Good Friday of the Lord's Passion Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord
Holy Thursday/April 17th 7 p.m. Holy Thursday Mass. After Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held in the Parish Hall until midnight.
Good Friday/April 18th 12 noon Passion of the Lord (Church) 3 p.m. Ecumenical Stations of the Cross (in Town Square) 7 p.m. Stations of the Cross (Church)
Holy Saturday/April 19th 8 p.m. Easter Vigil—Please note: there will be no 5:00 p.m. Mass on Sat., April 19th.

Stations of the Cross
Stations of the Cross are will be on held on Friday, April 11th in the church at 2:30 p.m. by St. James School and at 6:30 p.m. by Religious Education. The 6:30 p.m. stations will be followed by a soup supper in the Parish Hall. All are invited.
Good Friday
On Good Friday, there will be three services to choose from. Regular Good Friday service at noon, Stations of the Cross in Central Park with St. Andrews at 3 p.m. (Begin at courtyard of
St. Andrews at 2:30 p.m.) and regular stations of the cross at 7 p.m. in the church. Please join us.
Easter Flowers
Contributions toward the lilies that will decorate the al-tar for Easter can now be submitted to the parish office. There will be a fixed number of plants ordered by Art and Environment. Each monetary donation can be for multiple honorees. Honorees will be named/recognized in the bulletin. Plants will remain on the altar, if still in good appear-ance. Then they will be placed outside for anyone to pick up. The deadline to submit names is April 7.

The St. James Preschool is looking to enhance our progam and needs your help. We have created a wish list at www.lakeshorelearning.com. Scroll down to the wish list icon and click on it, in the email window type: [email protected]. This will get you to the school wish list. All items can be purchased online or in store. If you still are in need of PTC credits, this is a great opportunity to help our school. Please provide a copy of your receipt. We will also take cash donations to put toward the items of your choosing and we’ll do the shopping for you. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Dawn Luu at 379-2878. Thank you for your support. The SJS Summer Program begins June 9th and runs until August 1st.
Registration is for current or incoming St. James School students.

Junior Catholic Daughters
The JCDA Angel Gift Shop will be selling religious items for First Communion, Confirmation, and Easter on Sunday, April 13th, after the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Masses and before the noon Mass.

Primary responsibilities include invoicing, accounts pay-able, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, prepara-tion of financial reports, budget preparation. Qualifications include thorough knowledge of bookkeep-ing and accounting practices, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and LOGOS software. FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT
Religious Education
Lent Stations of the Cross Students are beginning to prepare to lead the Stations of
the Cross on Friday, April 11, at 6:30 p.m. in church.
Please mark your calendars and plan to be there. All
religious education families should participate in
this prayer. We will have a simple supper of soup and
bread, with time for fellowship, in the parish hall after the
Stations of the Cross.
Religious Education parents are asked to bring soup or
bread for the gathering after stations, please contact
Sister Cal as soon as possible.

seniors are provided, including the use of computer

health fairs and counseling sessions.

Ireland Trip
My dear priest friend Fr. Cannon is the pastor
of St. James Parish in Lake Placid, Florida. He is
arranging a tour to his homeland in Ireland Sept. 8th-
19th. The itinerary includes visits to Dublin, Wicklow,
Waterford, The Cliffs of Moher, The Shrine of Our Lady
of Knock, Belfast and many more wonderful sights. The
price of the tour is $3,399 per person, based on double
occupancy.

Infant Baptism Information
If you are expecting a child and would like to
prepare to celebrate the Baptism of your child at
St. James Parish, please call Sr. Cal at
(830-379-7689) to schedule an initial Baptism
interview and sign up for Baptism prep sessions.
Parents need to be registered members of
St. James Parish for six months before
celebrating their child’s Sacrament of Baptism.

John Paul II Catholic High School Blue and Gold Dinner
Friday, April 11th
John Paul II Catholic High School is hosting
their third annual Blue & Gold Dinner on Friday, April
11th. A fun night for parents and all friends of the
school.
