THE MOST HOLY TRINITY June 7,2020

Glory to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit: to God who is, who was, and who is to come.

We often begin Mass with the prayer from today's Epistle: "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you." We praise the God who has revealed himself as a Trinity, a communion of persons. Communion with the Trinity is the goal of our worship—and the purpose of the salvation history that begins in the Bible and continues in the Eucharist and sacraments of the Church. God was preparing us for the fullest possible revelation of His love for the world from the beginning of creation. Jesus humbled himself to be with us in obedience to God's will. The Spirit of God raised Him from the dead making as partakers as beloved children in the family of God. For this reason we give glory to God who is Love and always will be forever and ever. Amen

Reflection for Trinity Sunday - A community of Love and Sharing

There is no end to the topics and things that we can now ‘Google’ on the internet. However, the Trinity is not one of them! No matter how hard we try, we will never fully understand this deep mystery. And although we can’t even begin to get hold of or grasp the fullness of the Trinity, our faith helps us in some small way to experience its power and pres-ence in our lives. The Trinity is part of our Christian faith and

tradition. It cannot be understood with the head, but it is a reality that we are called to experience and believe in through our prayer and our heart. When we use the word ‘mystery’ to talk about the Trinity, we are not talking about a puzzle or a riddle that is to be solved. The Trinity is a mystery that is so deep and meaningful that its riches can never be exhausted. The Trinity is the unique relationship of creative love that exists between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Through the gift and grace of our baptism and confirmation, we are personally invited to be part of this dynamic and life-giving union. As the first reading, this Sunday tells us, ‘…. The love of God has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit which we have received.’ In moments of prayer and Christian living, we experience the love of the Trinity and we are transformed. This is a gift that always comes from God. It is made real and visible through the life, death, and res-urrection of Jesus. Through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, we are encouraged and strengthened to live our lives as followers of Jesus. We are made in the image of likeness of a triune God who is not re-mote or distant, but God who became flesh and now lives amongst us. We are created in the image of God the Father who creates us, of Jesus the Son who saves us and the Holy Spirit who continues to strengthen us. As we celebrate this wonderful feast, we pray that each of us will continue to be blest in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. But we know that our Redeemer lives. Even in this extraordinary and challenging moment, we give thanks for what Jesus Christ has done for us by his life, death, and resurrection. Even now, we marvel at the beautiful mystery of our salvation, how precious each one of us is in the eyes of God.

I am painfully aware that many of our Catholic people are troubled and hurt by the loss of the Eucharist and the consolation of the sacra-ments. This is a bitter affliction that we all feel deeply. Along with my brother bishops and priests, we ache with our people and we long for the day when we can be reunited around the altar of the Lord to cele-brate the sacred mysteries.

Our churches may be closed, but Christ is not quarantined and his Gospel is not in chains. Our Lord’s heart remains open to every man and woman. Even though we cannot worship togeth-er, each of us can seek him in the tabernacles of our hearts.

Because he loves us, and because his love can never change, we should not be afraid, even in this time of trial and testing. In this Sun-day celebration that we remember the Family of God, let us renew our faith in his love. And let us ask our Blessed Mother Mary to inter-cede for us, she is a special member in the Family of God, that she might deliver us from every evil and grant us peace in our day.

May God and His Family - The blessed TRINITY - bless you all.

Sincerely - Fr. Luigi
