Who would have thought two years ago when we first began streaming worship services at St. Andrews that God would use this technology to remind us of His abiding presence and to bring His Easter message of hope, love, and eternal life to us and others? Yet, here we are, apart but still very much together, worshipping, watching, singing, praying, and praising God as one people during our streamed worship services. Thanks be to God who knew years ago that this technology would become vitally important to us at this time. He knows what we need even before we do and He always provides. Also, thanks to Craig Pember for helping make Closed Captioning available on the saintandy.org website and to Levi Duncan and Craig for making services viewable on St. Andrews Facebook page. Data shows that our services are being viewed not only by the congregation, but many others in and beyond Texas. Let us hear from you. She is entering her junior year at Lamar University and is pursuing a Bachelors Degree in American Sign Language (ASL). While watching the live stream service from home with her family, she recognized the need for ASL interpretation for those who are deaf or hard-of- hearing. So, beginning Sunday, May 3rd , Kiara will be joining the live stream service each week to provide this service. We look forward to adding this additional form of communication to our services and hope that you will share this information with everyone you know. FELLOWSHIP NEWS

Fellowship planning remains in limbo, like most committees. Our best hope for a church luncheon is probably June or July, but we can't be sure yet about that. We are hopeful for these times.

With Major League Baseball completely up in the air, we have no idea if we will be able to have our Astros trip. Unfortunately, social distancing and fellowship don't exactly go well together!

We are all missing the great times of fellowship with our church family. We know God is with us and He will see us through. Until we meet again.

Blessings, Linda and Bruce

A NOTE FROM THE PASTORAL SEARCH COMMITTEE

After a slight delay due to the COVID19 isolation, the Pastor Search Committee

had a conference call meeting last week and are back on track to continue the search process. We have approved The Vanderbloemen Search Profile for

St. Andrew's and are now putting together a short video for the firm to use in

their efforts to select appropriate candidates for us to interview. Deciding how to create a video while in isolation has been challenging but we have a plan!

We want to be ready to go forward with interviews as soon as it is possible.

Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for St. Andrew's and our search for the future pastor God has chosen for us.

Stay Safe & Healthy,

Your Pastor Search Committee

I have often heard people remark, “I don’t see how anyone could get through this or that if they don’t know God!”.

I have been hearing that comment a lot here lately. Certainly, as Christians, we feel extremely blessed to be able to talk,

praise, plead, cry, or call upon our God for anything at any time. We have the confidence in knowing scripture that

brings us peace and comfort during uncertain times. We have the care of a precious Church Family that prays for one

another and responds to one another’s needs when they are made known. We know that we will get through these

times and we will grow stronger because we believe in the power of Jesus and the Holy Spirit working within us. Jehovah

-Jireh means “God will provide”. Haven’t you found that to be true? I am sure that you, like me, are simply amazed when

you look back and see the way that you have been provided for. God is simply so good; it is truly astounding! More than

a few have said how blessed we are that we had Live Stream already set up before this pandemic. Then there is the good

news you read on the front page about our Sister in Christ, Kiara, and the plans that God has for her with American Sign

Language. Through the years, here at St. Andrew’s, there have been conversations about having ASL in worship.

Also there is this thing called !!! Unfortunately, those that do not have the ability to connect with

the internet will not get to experience some of the togetherness it provides. To those of you who do have internet

access, continue to check your email regularly because we are excited to announce that we will soon be setting up a

meeting and you are all invited to join together for a meeting! You only thought you didn’t like

“MEETINGS”, just wait until you experience this one! You will smile and probably laugh, you may even shed a tear but it

will probably be one of joy! See you soon!

To God be the Glory…. Great things he is doing!

LIVE STREAM You can watch the Sunday service by streaming it on your

computer or tablet. Go to www.saintandy.org and on the

home page, scroll down to the box that says “WATCH LIVE”.

Click that box. The “live” service will be shown in the larger

box in the middle screen or if you want to watch a previously

streamed service, you can select it from the videos to the

right of the larger box. There’s no longer any wait time to

watch a previous service, even if the service was that day.

Our Session has communicated by email and was again unified in their decision that for the next 2-3 weeks, our Sunday worship services will be suspended. The suspension continues to include ALL gatherings that were scheduled to be held during this time. We will reevaluate again on Friday, May 8

th.

INFO Thanks to each of you who have started mailing in your tithes and

offerings by checks to the church. It is very helpful during this time. If

you would continue mailing them until we get further along in this

process, it will be greatly appreciated. If you need to speak with me for

any reason, please leave a message at 409-201-4561, and I will get

back to you.

Thank you - Bruce Burnside, St. Andrew’s Treasurer

P.S. Please know that we are operating financially and paying expenses as normal...especially

our quarterly benevolences. More details to come!

In Psalm 100:2-5, the Lord directs us to, "enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations."

Although worshipping remotely the past several weeks, each Sunday, St. Andrew’s enters (via livestream) into His gates with Thanksgiving. We are grateful and truly blessed that His Plan and direction moved us to acquire livestream technology before the recent "stay at home" restrictions. He provides and continues to bless our church family. Indeed, the Lord is good.
