During the month of June St.
Andrew’s was fortunate to have
three different celebrants. Fr. Mike
Bedrosian was our celebrant the
first weekend. The third weekend we
welcomed Fr. Thomas Williams, chair
of the Religious Studies Department
at USF in Tampa. The second and
fourth weekends we were graced
with The Rev Canon Durning. Thank
you to each of these gentlemen.
We are pleased to announce we
have Rev. Robert Hennagin engaged
as our Priest-In-Charge.
Fr. Bob officially began his tenure
with St. Andrew’s the weekend of
June 30/July 1. His family will not be
moving to Spring Hill at this time;
they will remain in Ft. Myers. Fr. Bob
will be on campus each week from
mid-afternoon on Saturday to mid-
afternoon on Wednesday. He is avail-
able at all times via cell phone.
Fr. Bob’s phone number is:
239-890-4163
Fr. Bob’s email is:
The next step in our search for
a new rector is the parish survey. It
is our desire to capture the voice of
all of St. Andrew’s parishioners for
this parish pro-
file. To help de-
fer the cost of
mailing, the
parish survey is
available in the
back of the
church. Please
pick up your
survey. To have your voice counted in the
final tally, we need your completed survey
returned by July 22nd. We will mail
surveys to our snowbirds and home-
bound. There is a box in the back of the
sanctuary for completed surveys.
The third step is to select a Search
Committee. The Committee will use the
survey results to discern the parish profile,
where parishioners feel the future of St.
Andrew’s lies, and the qualities most pre-
ferred in a rector. There is a letter in your
survey packet that asks if you are willing
to be on the committee. If you are inter-
ested, please note on the letter and re-
turn. No phone calls, please.
Reminder – Vacation Bible School is
the week of July 30th. Many parishioners
asked for this ministry. Now is the time to
volunteer to help.
A beautification project in the Memorial
Gardens has been completed. Dead grass
has been removed and replaced with new
sod. This project was made possible due to a
very generous gift from one of our fellow
parishioners, Adele Ruggiero, and a deeply
discounted labor rate from Mr. Fred Dehn,
the owner of our lawn care service. Stop by
the Gardens if you have a moment.
Another air conditioning problem has
been addressed in Krysher Hall. The unit
above the Thrift
Shop kiosk
overflowed its
drain pan. For-
tunately, none
of the merchan-
dise in the kiosk
was damaged.
The ceiling was damaged and will be
inspected to determine if replacement
will be necessary rather than repair and
repainting.
Two of the sanctuary hanging lights
were flickering a couple of weeks ago.
Our own Pete Jackson inspected and
diagnosed the problem as a defective
circuit breaker and rectified the situation.
A special thank you to Pete and Lannie
Kline for the generous gifts of their time
and talents which have saved us so much
expense over the years.

FRIENDS of the LIBRARY Sally Cloughly
The Friends don’t meet again until
Tuesday October 9, 2012. We hope
many of you will join us that day.
We begin with an informal bag lunch,
then a business meeting, and end
with book club. It is a delightful after-
noon—come share your love of good
books with some wonderful new
friends! All are welcome.
Thanks to all who supported our joint
fundraiser with the Youth Ministry on
June 2. The Friends made about $50 to
help with our Library ministry.
The Witt Library is open for your book
browsing pleasure whenever Krysher
Hall is open. Directions to take out
books are on the desk. Come see our
eclectic collection. Happy Reading!
YOUTH MINISTRY RISING
THE FUTURE OF ST. ANDREW’S is
our youth. Our ministry continues to
meet throughout the summer and is
blessed to have a growing group of
young souls interested in experiencing
the love of Christ through our fellow-
ship. The big thing on our minds this
summer: Get to Orlando in September!
Our last trip was in 2009—we attended
two nights of Contemporary Christian
concerts at “Night of Joy.” Now our
sights are set on “Rock the Universe,” for
two nights of amazing love and live mu-
sic. Some of the biggest names in Con-
temporary Christian music will
perform including Family Force 5, For
King & Country, Skillet, Switchfoot,
Newsboys, Relient K, Jeremy Camp,
tobyMac, Tenth Avenue North, Britt
Nicole and many more. Several celebrity
speakers (actors, musicians, and Champi-
onship MMA Fighter Vitor Belfort) will
also share their Christian stories.
Our fundraising goal is at least $3000 –
the amount needed for about 25 people
to attend (adult chaperones will pay their
own way). This includes the cost of a two
-night ticket, two nights lodging, and
food. We have raised nearly $1,000; but
getting the rest is a challenge. The good
news is that you have several opportuni-
ties to help! Here are some ways to show
your support:
✞ Buy a Raffle ticket! Drawing is Sun-
day September 2. Prizes so far include a
$300 cash prize; $150 cash prize; and
gift certificates for Home Depot, Hess,
Cracker Barrel, Publix and Applebee's.
We'll keep adding prizes as we go.
Please ask your favorite local restau-
rants, hair salons, grocery stores, etc. to
donate a gift card to our cause! Tickets
are available for a suggested donation
of $5 each or 6 for $25.
✞ Car Wash & Bake Sale at Advance
Auto Parts on Saturday, July 7 from
9 am to 3 pm (13427 Cortez Blvd—
corner of SR 50 & Sunshine Grove
Road, Brooksville). PLEASE BAKE if
you can. Drop off donations of baked
goods at the church office Monday
through Thursday until 2 pm (office is
closed on Wed. for July 4). Stop by –
we’ll clean your car and you can enjoy a
nice fresh baked good while you wait!
✞ Baby Sitting Fun Night on the Friday
night at the end of Vacation Bible School
(Fri. Aug. 4). Parents can take a few
hours for themselves! Drop-off your child
for some fun (with yummy treats of
course). 5 pm to 9 pm – Suggested Dona-
tion: $5/hour. PLEASE REGISTER in
advance by calling the church office with
your name, child’s name, and any special
dietary restrictions, allergies, etc.
✞ Invest in our future - take STOCK in
our youth! Purchase a Stock Certificate
that you can proudly display to show you
have faith in our future! Contact Betty
Audette or Jody Bowes for more details.
Shares may be purchased via your dona-
tion of $10 per share (a bargain!). Our
“Stockholders” will be entitled to receive
periodic “Stock Reports” from individual
youth ministry members letting you know
how their Christian service, education and
experiences (at St. Andrew’s and beyond)
are making a difference in their lives.
✞ Be a Sponsor! You can sponsor one or
more of our young people to attend Rock
the Universe through your donation of any
amount. Cost per person is about $150.
Our youth are faithful servants of God here
at St. Andrew’s, always willing to help with
any event or task that they are asked to do.
Please support them as they work to earn
their way to sharing in such a wonderful
event. The September event tickets must be
purchased before the end of August to get
the discounted price. Thousands of Christian
youth from all over Florida and beyond will
come together to worship through music.
Standing amid such a multitude of praise is
an experience that can change lives and will
long be remembered by all who attend. God
bless you for helping our young people grow
in Christian fellowship!

St. Andrew’s VPK, Preschool and Child Care News Geri Anderson, Director
“The Lazy Days of Summer 2012”
are here in Friendship Hall each day!
The children are having fun creating arts
and crafts, playing games, and enjoying
their daily hot lunches from Healthy
Cameals by Camille Kennedy.
Registration is coming along nicely
for our new school year beginning in
August for both VPK (Voluntary Pre-
Kindergarten) and preschool (the
younger three-year-olds). Be sure to
pass on our phone number for interested
parents to register children for the new
school year beginning August 20, 2012 –
683-7013.
We started off the summer with a
visit to our St. Andrew’s Thrift Shop
to purchase gifts for Father’s Day.
Many special thanks to Pat Trama and
Colleen Kovacs for letting our children
shop for their wonderful gifts and for
allowing them to s t r e t c h their dollars
to buy so much!!! After our wonderful
days of shopping, the children wrapped
their gifts using plenty of tape(!) and
made Father’s Day cards for their dad-
dies. This truly is a frugal year for us, as
we used leftover wrapping paper from
Christmas time, and our dads did not
mind one bit! These presents were truly a
sight to behold both inside and out.
We look forward to the rest of our
summer with weekly themes such as “We
Love Watermelon,” “Hooray for the Red,
White, and Blue,” “The London Olympic
Games,” “Take Me Out to the Ball
Game,” “Up, Up and Away” and “In
Praise of Pets.” We have fun each
morning on the playground playing un-
der the shade of all our beautiful trees,
and look forward to having ice cold pop-
sicles each afternoon. The weeks of sum-
mer will go by quickly, and before you
know it, it will be time for school once
again!
Christian formation & education
is a life-long process and is offered
in the Anglican tradition of seeking
the truth from diverse viewpoints,
even as our relationship with God
through Jesus never wavers.
Different viewpoints may be
represented at different times.

Last season’s Sunday School was a
wonderful learning experience for all
of us, i.e., the kids, Jeanie, Lisa, Col-
leen and I. We all contributed histori-
cal information, Biblical references,
different explanations of incidents,
personal insights and much, much dis-
cussion. See you in September!

We would encourage each of you to read each Book listed above to experience the
full impact of our Living God as He becomes the God of Israel. Realize that these
books are approximately 2500 to 3500 years old, and yet they each have a profound
effect upon our lives as Christians living in the year 2012.
Next month we shall look at the poetry of this section – again in the same format.

THE OLD TESTAMENT By Ludwig J. Wallner
Seventh of a series on the Bible, helping
us to develop a better understanding of
Bible writers, locations and themes of
the various books.
People who have read the Bible are very
familiar with the order of the Old Testa-
ment in our “English” Bible. These are
basically The Law of Moses (the first five
books); the Poetical Books (Writings); and
lastly the Prophets. If we refer to Luke
24:27,44, we see a different structure to
the bible: The Law of Moses, the Prophets
and then the Psalms or Writings. For the
ease of understanding the Old Testament,
we shall use the division of the Writings
and then the Prophets, dividing the Writ-
ings into two sections: (1) History and (2)
Poetry.
History: This section is a record of Israel’s
spiritual growth and then her decline.
Rather than go into great detail about each
book contained in this section, we shall
use a graph from “The Nelson Study Bi-
ble” to help illustrate this section of the
Old Testament.
