Drodzy Parafianie i Przyjaciele, Witam i pozdrawiam wszystkich u schyłku wakacji. Zarówno dzieciom, nauczycielom jak i rodzicom życzę, aby nowy rok szkolny był radosny i owocny. Ci którzy nie są jeszcze zarejestrowani serdecznie zapraszam do biura Szkoły św. Joanny de Chantal. Tak samo można jeszcze zarejestrować się w biurze na plebanii do Programu Religijnego REF. Czekamy na was wszystkich! Święty Paweł, w drugim czytaniu, kieruje dzisiaj nasze spojrzenie na Pana Jezusa, będącego dla nas
wzorem, który mamy w ciągu naszego życia naśladować. Pan Jezus, aby wypełnić wolę Ojca „przecierpiał krzyż, nie bacząc na jego hańbę”. Jego życie na ziemi wyznacza kierunek naszego życia i działania: służyć Bogu i sprzeciwiać się wszystkiemu, co może nas odciągać od całkowitej wierności względem Boga. Słowa dzisiejszej Ewangelii w pierwszej chwili szokują nas. Pan Jezus wyjaśnia, wprost, że przyszedł rzucić ogień na ziemię, mówi także, że nie przyszedł po to, by dać ziemi pokój, lecz rozłam. Żywioł ognia budzi w nas lęk i przerażenie. Znamy jego niszczycielską moc. Zostawia zgliszcza i popioły. Rozłam budzi także negatywne skojarzenia. Wiemy jednak, że nie o taki ogień tu chodzi. Nauka Kościoła wyjaśnia nam, że ten „ogień” jest zapowiedzią ofiary Chrystusa na krzyżu. To „ogień” miłości, który ma zapalić i oczyścić nasze serca. Zadaniem każdego, kto chce być uczniem Pana Jezusa, jest budowa domu, czyli wspólnoty opartej na wzajemnej miłości. W czwartek 8 sierpnia, Kardynał Blase Cupich zatwierdził nazwę naszej nowej parafii, która powstała z połączenia Parafii Św. Kamila i Św. Joanny de Chantal. Nowa parafia będzie teraz nosić imię Świętej Faustyny. Polska wspólnota przy kościele Św. Joanny de Chantal, przekazała sum $6,000 na obraz Św. Faustyny Kowalskiej i na nowy olłarz Jezusa Zmartwychwstałego, który zostanie zbudowany za ołtarzem soborowym. Zarówno w kościele Św. Kamila jak Św. Joanny de Chantal są wyłożone przy wyjściach kościelnych kopertki na składanie ofiar na ściane ołtarzową Jezusa Zmartwychwstałego, Matki Bożej i Św. Józefa. W ścianie ołtarzowej będzie umieszczone nowe nieco większe tabernakulum oraz relikwie Św. Faustyny, Św. Kamila i Św. Joanny de Chantal. Ofiary można składać osobiście w zakrystii, w biurze na plebanii lub wrzucając wraz z niedzielną kolektą. Przez tydzień czasu jestem w Polsce, gdzie wraz mamą celebruje jej 83 rocznicę urodzin. Również przyleciałem tu aby udzielić małemu Kubusiowi, synkowi mojej siostrzenicy, Sakramentu Chrztu świętego. Do zobaczenia za kilka dni.

Dear parishioners and friends, Hello and greetings to everyone at the end of summer vacation. I wish all our children, teachers and parents a happy and fruitful new school year. Those who are not yet registered, I invite you to visit the office at St. Jane de Chantal School. Also, you can still register to the Religious Education Formation (REF) Program in the parish office during the week. We are waiting for all of you! Saint Paul, in the second reading today, directs our eyes to the Lord Jesus, who is a model for us, who we should imitate throughout our lives. The Lord Jesus, in order to fulfill the will of the Father, "endured the cross, despising its shame." His life on earth sets the direction for our lives and actions: to serve God and to oppose anything that can distract us from total loyalty to God. The words of today's Gospel shock us at first. The Lord Jesus explains directly that he came to set the earth on fire, he also says that he did not come to give peace to the earth but rather division. The element of fire stirs within us fear and terror. We know its destructive power. It leaves soot and ashes. Division also has negative connotations. However, we know that it isn’t about this type of fire. The Church's teaching explains to us that this "fire" is a preview of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. It is the "fire" of love that is to ignite and cleanse our hearts. The task of each one of us, who wants to be a disciple of the Lord Jesus, is to build a home, or community based on mutual love. On Thursday, August 8, Cardinal Blase Cupich approved the name of our new parish, which was formed through the unification of St. Camillus and St. Jane de Chantal Parishes. The new parish will now bear the name of Saint Faustina. The Polish community at St. Jane de Chantal Church donated $6,000 toward a framed image of St. Faustina Kowalska and the new altar of the Resurrected Jesus, which will be built behind the conciliar altar. Envelopes for your sacrificial offerings toward the Resurrected Jesus, Mother of God, and St. Joseph altar wall and sacristy are placed at the entrances to the church of St. Camillus, as well as St. Jane de Chantal. Within the altar wall, a new, slightly larger tabernacle will be installed, as well as relics of St. Faustina, St. Camillus and St. Jane de Chantal. Offerings can be made in person in the sacristy, in the parish office, or added to the collection with your Sunday offering. For a week I am in Poland, to celebrate with my mother her 83rd birthday. In addition, I went to bestow the sacrament of Baptism upon my niece’s son, little Jacob. See you in a few days.
