Whoever desires to obtain favors from Me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving. – Promise of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary On March 3, 1884 (in the same year Pope Leo XIII wrote the prayer to St. Michael, and exactly 33 years before the Fatima apparitions), a young girl named Fortuna Agrelli was graced with an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary and given this special devotion which she passed onto others. At the time, young Fortuna was ill with 3 separate incurable diseases and her doctors had given up on her case saying it was hopeless. In desperation, the young girl and her family began a novena of Rosaries. Our Lady appeared to the girl, sitting upon a high throne, surrounded by luminous figures, holding the Divine Child on Her lap, and in Her hand a Rosary. The sick girl greeted the Blessed Virgin with the following words: “Queen of the Holy Rosary, be gracious to me, restore me to health! I have already prayed to Thee in a novena, O Mary, but have not yet experienced Thy aid. I am so anxious to be cured!” “Child”, responded the Blessed Virgin, “you have invoked Me by various titles and have always obtained favors from Me. Now, since you have called Me by that title so pleasing to Me, ‘Queen of the Most Holy Rosary’, I can no longer refuse the favor you petition; for this name is most precious and dear to Me. Make three novenas, and you shall obtain all.” Once more, the Queen of the Holy Rosary appeared to the young girl and said, “Whoever desires to obtain favors from Me should make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving.” Obeying Our Lady’s instructions, the young girl was healed and restored to perfect health. 54-Day Rosary Novena starts May 13 and should be prayed through July 5 Traditionally a novena is nine days. Thus, Our Lady’s words to young Fortuna “make three novenas of the prayers of the Rosary in petition, and three novenas in thanksgiving.” The novena consists of five decades of the Rosary (one set of mysteries) each day for twenty-seven days in petition; then immediately five decades each day for an additional twenty-seven days in thanksgiving, regardless of whether or not the request has been granted yet. So began six novenas of Rosaries which became known as the 54-day Rosary Novena. To do the novena properly one must pray the Rosary for 54 consecutive days, without missing a day, and must pray the particular Mystery indicated for that day following the correct sequence. That is, the first day of the novena always begins with the Joyful Mysteries (regardless of what day of the week the novena is started); the second day, the Sorrowful Mysteries are prayed; and the third day of the novena, the Glorious Mysteries are prayed. The fourth day of the novena begins again with the Joyful Mysteries and continues on in that sequence throughout the 54 days of the novena (see chart below). People have asked over time about the Luminous Mysteries — this novena was given by Our Lady as noted above in 1884 and only allows for the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries. The Miraculous Rosary Novena It has been reported that the miracle of young Fortuna’s cure upon praying the 54-day Rosary Novena, made a deep impression on Pope Leo XIII. He wrote 17 encyclicals on the Rosary and urged all Christians to love the Rosary and pray it fervently. Over the years, countless supernatural miracles and answered prayers have been attributed to praying this very powerful 54 Day Rosary Novena. Interesting to note: the name Faustina is a diminutive of fausta – which means fortunate or lucky. We are blessed here at St. Faustina with our parishioners, staff & priests! The novena is divided into two parts, each twenty-seven days. This is a 54 days novena. 1. Pray at least three decades of the mystery each day (Glorious, Joyful and Sorrowful). 2. Say introductory prayers (Apostles Creed etc.) only once. 3. Begin each decade with following words: I am praying the rosary for Thy glory, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. 4. Say your intention then (one for all the novena). 5. Finish each rosary with the prayer below. 6. Then say 3 times: Queen of the Holy Rosary, pray for us! PETITION PRAYER (first 27 days - May 13-June 8) Blessed Lady of Pompeii, who has ever turned to you with confidence and has not been heard? You have never turned down any of your children, any of your worshippers, who were looking for your help, hear my plea, o Mother of the Word, and through your Holy Rosary and the Temple of Pompeii please look with favor on my devotion. Amen. THANKSGIVING PRAYER (last 27 days - June 9-July 5) What have I to offer you, Oh, Queen, rich in mercy and magnificence? What remains of my life i dedicate to you, and to the propagating of your cult everywhere, Oh, Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii, through whose invocation the grace of the Lord has visited me. I shall promote the devotion of your rosary; I shall tell everyone of the mercy you have obtained for me; I shall always proclaim your goodness towards me, so that others as well, unworthy as I and sinners, may turn to you with confidence. If all the world only knew how good you are, how compassionate with those who suffer, all creatures would turn to you. Amen.

Jej tekst został przetłumaczony i wydrukowany w kilku językach.

Dobra rada - zapisz sobie w kalendarzu kolejne dni nowenny (kiedy odmawiasz część błagalną a kiedy dziękczynną)

Online Virtual Prayer Group at St. Faustina Kowalska Parish

During this time of stress and uncertainty, we know that prayer is a very powerful calming tool. As we are sheltering at home, and unable to come together to pray in person, the faith community of St. Faustina Kowalska would like to start a weekly prayer group that can unite in prayer virtually through the internet, cell phone or regular telephone. We will gather weekly for 30-40 minutes to read and reflect on the Word of God together. A link to that day’s reading will be provided beforehand and we will read it during our prayer time. We will also have the opportunity to build community and share prayer intentions. We’re plannng on Tuesdays at noon. All are welcome - please share with those who may not have access to internet as we can also connect via telephone. Hope you are able to join us. If you are interested, please conatct Lupe Toledo at the parish office office number: 1-773-767-2411.

Wirtualna internetowa grupa modlitewna w parafii Św. Faustyny Kowalskiej

Link do czytania na ten dzień zostanie podany wcześniej, a my go przeczytamy podczas spotkania. To wspólne spotkanie planujemy we wtorki w południe.
