The following is a rare hymn on Lord Vishnu found in Varaha Purana, Chapter 8 which
describes the life of Dharmavyadha. Upon utterance of this prayer, Lord Vishnu appears
before him and gives a boon that his race will be righteous and devotees of Vishnu.
Dharmavyadha’s soul also attained immediate union with Lord as a light emanted from his
body and merged with Lord.
One who utters this excellent hymn and listens to it always worshipping Vishnu and
performing fast, especially on the day of Vishnu (Ekadashi?), would get Lord Vishnu’s world
and live there happy life for seventy Manvataras.
