assessed to formulate our classes for Intensive Swimming Scheme. Students will be notified that they will be included in the intensive swimming program. Children will also be given a note to tell their parents that they have been included in the swimming lessons. I was honoured to be asked to adjudicate the Yass Public School Public Speaking Competition along with Mr Cox. It was a fabulous event and all students spoke very well. The speakers were confident and spoke on a variety of topics. Thanks to Mrs Hickey for organising this event. What a great disco last night, we had over 150 children turn up for the evening. The year 6 students did a great job in organising the night. Our big thanks must go to Josh the DJ. It was a very professional job with lights and music. Josh Kemp is a student at Yass High and offered his services and equipment for Free. Thank you Josh! Principal’s Message Mrs Fahey Principal ASSEMBLY TIMES AND ITEMS. VIBE 3on3 Basketball As always the VIBE 3on3 students set off from school in the early hours of the morning to attend the much anticipated annual event. After a very sleepy and subdued bus trip we arrived at the Goulburn Basketball Stadium ready to take on the world. The students participated in a range of activities including; dancing, rapping, drumming, art, quizzes and of course basketball. After all the games and activities we were treated to a terrific BBQ lunch and got to watch the dance off competition. After this the medals and prizes were presented. Our students were successful across a range of activities and were presented with several prizes. One of our senior boy teams won their basketball division on points and as we later found out several of our other teams placed 2nd, 3rd or 4th, narrowly missing out on first place in the point counts. They performed so well in the general knowledge quizzes about health and staying safe they were awarded the school prize which was a KOBO e-book reader. Hopefully we can return next year and win some more of these readers for our school! A new school prize will also be presented next year due to our students playing fairly and ignoring other school students who were less than sportsmanlike in their behaviour on the courts. Overall we had a wonderful day out at the stadium and we’re all looking forward to the new venue next year.

Junior girl team at drumming! All over the quiz questions…
