Building product knowledge in the team

Plan releases based on the needs of the global sites for different brands for Feature requests and new product needs,

Proactively identify issues and take corrective actions in the team in terms of technical, process, domain knowledge areas.

Plan for resources from a long term point of view and ramp up to execute different activities and plan for the training, skill, competence needed

for executing the activities from Bangalore.

The candidate must be responsible for quality and feature of wiring harness developed from user requirements for use in the truck.

Creation of efficient way of working/implementing electrical solutions and participate in global forums.

Identify areas for improvement and automation and develop solutions to improve productivity and develop processes to make it standard.

Be responsible for making sure the team follows the predetermined work process/GDIs in order to comply with the standards

 Relationship Management

Keep in constant discussion with Global representatives in each site to plan for the activities

Discuss with the Systems Engineering/Packaging/Electronics group to get the required specification which need to be analyzed and implemented as solution.

Develop estimates and validate with g project manager in order to develop the electrical solutions for the change requests in a timely and efficient manner.

 Post Development Activities and Release

Release the drawings for use in the truck, review functional performance and take corrective actions to iron-out Quality issues to successfully implement the solution in trucks.

People Management

Has to plan for resources depending on the need in the project for the year. Develop expertise in the development team to

handle new feature requests, Quality issues independently. Identify/get new resources to handle the changes or ramp down in order to manage the slack time.

QUALIFICATION & BACKGROUND

BE (Computer Science / Instrumentation / Electrical) with 4-6 years of experience in programming.

Good Automotive engineering knowledge

Good Knowledge of Embedded programming language and microcontrollers

Good understanding of Communication protocol (CAN, J1587)

Good exposure to different debugging tools (CANOE, CANALYZER, JTAG, ICE)

Good system understanding

Experience in Software release process and configuration management

Good Communication, Project Management and Problem solving skills

Good exposure to multisite software development practices

Product Structure- Engineer (PD117) RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide day to day support to the product structure team by delivering the assigned tasks with good quality and with in agreed lead time. This includes working with different tools like KOLA, Docetude, G2B.

Understand and maintain processes & methods related to product documentation and release process.

Participate in Review meetings related to product documentation within product projects in order to share its expertise and help in documentation in a common global way.

To work with cross functional teams within Product Development, Purchasing, Global Manufacturing and After Market during different Project phases as per Global Development Process (GDP).

To support the project support team in Material Ordering process for Global, Weight Update in KOLA etc when there is a need.

QUALIFICATION & BACKGROUND

BE in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering

Working Experience of 2-3 years in automotive industry in one or more of the following areas: Design; Production/Production Engineering/Sales and After Market.

Good communication skills (especially to coordinate with other sites)

Very good analytical Skills, Interpersonal skills, Team Worker and self sufficient

Knowledge of Volvo PDM system (KOLA) is an added advantage

Global Manufacturing Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

Define manufacturing project prerequisites to answer the targets above and guarantee that they will be taken into account by the projects.

Take active part to the development of the product which will be delivered to the project team to Renault Truck and Volvo Truck assembly plant.

Work with close cooperation with 3P product development with the target to optimize the product for the assembly.

Rely on IVMT network, Technical product preparation team, Plant quality department and defend RTC &VTC Global manufacturing interest.

Manage a weekly audio meeting with his network for sharing on hard points (Protus solving, IMPR issues tracking etc,)

Follow up Key Performance Indicators, mainly for Protus solving.

QUALIFICATION & BACKGROUND

BE (Mechanical) with 4-8 yrs experience as a skilled engineer,

Should have excellent knowledge of Product / Process Development.

Should be comfortable with assembly graph & technologies and GDP process.

Creative, persistent and persuasive, able to manage a team and federate towards common objective.

Can easily work and be accepted by multicultural colleagues.

Solid autonomy, good communication skills, able to adapt objectives into actions and plans.

Project Management Support (PD111)

RESPONSIBILITIES

To assure the composition of the second level deadline referential by identifying the main interfaces between project stakeholders. To manage and coordinate time activities for each actor/collaborator. To assure the realisation of summary on project progress.

Identify the main milestones of the second level Master Plan of the project in accordance with the GDP

Develop the deadline referential (the Master Plan) with coordination of constrains and interfaces of the different actors.

Secured that 3PPD schedule (2nd Level) is in line with the global project main time plan (level1)

Suggest organisational adjustments to the project manager to guarantee operational control in project realisation.

Control project realisation by ensuring compliance with the targets (quality, costs and deadlines) and the command of interfaces between the 4 projects.

Identify risks related to deadlines and present solutions to the project manager, in case of deviations

To plan and manage output of deliverables for gates

Identify expected deliverables for each gate considering constrains imposed by the PAP and the GDP.

Plan the output of deliverables

Monitor the delivery of goods upstream from Gates

Identify the time-related risks and present solutions in case of deviations

Sr. Validation Engineer (PD112) RESPONSIBILITIES

Create the strategy of validation/Verification.

Create a test plan to make sure that the component/ ECU/ Subsystem/system can be verified for all the functionalities.

Plan the tools and consultants to execute the verification activity.

Find innovative methods to get the best results and also to automate areas where regression testing is needed.

Determine type and methods of tests and execution of test cases to derive the best results. Get the team to execute the test cases on the electronic network/ECU/Component, review the test data in order to verify the safety and control features of the truck.

Get information on the next release of software’s for ECUs, identify testing requirements, hours and costs planned, resources needed for testing etc. in order to plan for the timely validation of the ECU.

Participate in Functional reviews to make sure that the functionalities defined arse testable and a suitable test strategy can be identified.

Participate in the Product roadmap discussion to decide on the verification roadmap for the component, ECU, Subsystem.

Responsible for test reports generated by the test team and product quality.

Resource planning for the ECU/Component/ Subsystem/ System verification activity based on the product/ complexity in terms of Engineer, skills and test rig. Assist in resource plan for efficient utilization of the skills/ resources in project.

Responsible for networking with Global sites to arrive at a common strategy for verification and validation in different areas, Scripting, Modeling, Automating, Rig building etc.,

Validation Engineer (PD-113)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Testing ECU's and electronic network of a truck - Validate as per the test strategy.

Prepare the test plan as per the test strategy to ensure coverage of all functionalities.

Assist in identifying test automation areas to the project team.

Execute the test cases on the electronic network/ECU/component and review the test data in order to verify the safety and control features of the truck.

Identify test cases as per the test strategy to cover all functionalities.Review the specification to make sure that the requirements are testable.

Automate the test cases wherever possible.

Plan for the project activity in terms of the engineers needed and help the project leader in identifying the key competences and key resources needed for the project execution.

QUALIFICATION & BACKGROUND

BE (Electrical or Electronics and Communication)  with 2-4 years of experience in testing of electronic controls in automobile industry.

Project Execution and Delivery

Designing the electrical circuits for the wiring harness in truck using tools like Saber.

Responsible for implementing Wiring harnesses based on the needs of the Global project

Responsible for developing new solutions for the issues raised by Volvo India as well as global requests.

 Working process compliance

Assist in defining efficient way of working /implementing electrical solutions and participate in global forums.

Follow the predetermined work processes in order to comply with the standards. Performs DFMEA

Perform Design checks & participate in cost improvement activities

 Relationship Management

Discuss with cross commodity/ groups to get the required details to design the harness to suit all the stakeholder needs.

Document user requirements and validate with the project manager/user,estimate for the activity, plan for the activity and develop harness designs in order to develop efficient solutions for the electrical design in a timely and efficient manner.

Post Development Activities and Release

 

Document and release the design solutions in the PDM systems in the form of bundle drawings.

Review functional performance and take corrective actions to iron-out quality issues in order to successfully implement the solution.

Should have executed the design projects preferably in automotive domain & posses strong Electrical engineering knowledge.

Good communication skills in English.
