Squee!

Squee is an alternative comic first released by Jhonen Vasquez in 1997, published by Slave Labor Graphics.

The comic is about a boy named Todd (AKA Squee) who is afraid of just about everything.

Todd was originally a character in Johnen Vasquez’s other comic book, Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

Jhonen Vasquez used pen and ink for most of the issues in the series, except for one where he used a brush instead. They were all published in black and white.

In the four-issue series, Todd witnesses a kid in his class get attacked by a dog, gets abducted by aliens, almost eaten by his grandfather, visited by a ghost, has dinner with the devil, attacked by a giant dust mite, and finally admitted into a mental hospital by his parents.

The series was based on the things that Jhonen was afraid of when he was a kid.

The four issues were combined and released in the book Squee’s Wonderful Big Giant Book of Unspeakable Horrors

The book included “Meanwhiles”. Brief scenes that have nothing to do with the story. They had been cut from Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

It also included the filler strip “Wobbly-headed Bob”.
