The Vision Chronicles, Book 2

Mike Lewis was falling and falling fast. His stomach flipped over several times, or so it seemed. The sensation was similar to riding a rollercoaster, and he felt sick and nauseated as if he’d taken too many turns on the rough and wild ride. He knew he was going to throw up, but as he reached to cover his mouth, Mike discovered his arms were restrained. Oh god, he wondered, did the company finally capture him?

More alert now, he knew he was jostled and bounced relentlessly. He couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on. His head hurt like a son-of-a-bitch. As awareness returned, he realized he was strapped onto something; he immediately began to struggle with fear and determination to get free. He had fought too hard to let the company men take him peacefully. He couldn’t get loose. Mike took a few deep breaths to gather his wits even though he continued to struggle against the restraints. It was dark, but he could see dim lighting to his left. It looked as if he was in a cylindrical tube of some kind. No, it wasn’t a tube it was the back of an airplane. A big-ass airplane!

Mike remembered that Casey and the two men in Marseille had planned to get him to a plane waiting to take him somewhere undetermined. Had the men following him succeeded? As he looked around in the dim light, he could see that the plane was hollowed out. It didn’t have any seats, but it held containers and stacks of secured equipment. Mike spotted about ten men strapped into harnesses on the far side of the plane. It dawned on him that this was a military transport plane, and they were flying to god only knew where. He wondered if The Rodante Group had the clout to call in a

favor from the government. Had these trained soldiers stepped in to assist when the common thugs had failed to abduct him? Mike didn’t have any answers. The nausea that had awakened him refused to go away and the fear of this unknown situation wasn’t helping that. Mike felt the vomit rushing into his mouth; he retched, but nothing came up.
