SPSS 24 WINDOWS INSTALLATION Note: Some pictures are from the installation of SPSS 24. These instructions will work with other versions of SPSS

1. First, find out whether you have a 32-bit or 64-bit Windows computer. Open a File Explorerwindow by double-clicking the Recycle Bin on your Desktop.

2. Right-click This PC on the left pane then select Properties.(If it’s not named This PC, look for another name such as “Computer.” You may need to scrolldown to find it.)

3. The following window will open and the System type shows either a 64-bit Operating System ora 32-bit Operating System.

4. Go to Campus Downloads at http://www.marquette.edu/its/help/downloads/

5. Scroll to SPSS and select either the 32-bit or 64-bit Windows download. Important: SPSS isstrictly for academic use.

6. Login to Marquette's Microsoft site with your Marquette.edu email address and password.

7. The installer will download. The following prompt will open at the bottom of your browserwindow. Click Save.

8. Once the download has completed, click Open folder.

9. Right-click 64-bit-SPSS-25, (or 32-bit-SPSS-25) and click Extract All…

10. The Select Destination window will open. Click Extract.

11. The progress window below will open.

12. When the window below opens, double-click IBM SPSS Statistics 25.

13. The installer will run through a series of windows, and when the window below opens, clickNext.

14. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.

15. Select Yes and click Next.

16. Select Iaccept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.

17. Select Iaccept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.

18. Click Next.

19. Click Install.

20. The progress window will open. Wait as the wizard installs SPSS 25.

21. The Wizard Completed window will appear once the installation is complete.Confirm that the Start IBM SPSS option is checked, and then click Finish.

22. SPSS will start with an introduction screen. Click License Product.

23. SPSS will close and the following window will pop up. Click Next.

24. The Product Authorization window will open. Make sure the Authorized user license option isselected. Click Next.

25. The Enter Codes window will open.

26. Return to the folder from which you ran the Installer. Double-click License Code.

27. Highlight the license code in the window that opens.

Right-click the text and click Copy.

28. Go back to the “IBM SPSS Statistics 24 Licensing” window.Right-click beneath “Enter Code:” and click Paste to paste in the license code. Then click Next.

29. When the window below opens, click Next.

30. Click Finish.

31. Congratulations! You have just successfully installed and activated SPSS 24 for Windows.
