Springtime is here and that means it’s time for RELAY FOR LIFE Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is our opportunity to meet the community, volunteer our time and minister to those who are fighting and surviving cancer and remembering the friends and loved ones who lost their battle against cancer. First Baptist will sponsor and volunteer in the Survivor Registration Tent. We need volunteers between 4pm and 7pm. You can help out a few minutes or the entire time! There are changes to the time and location of the event this year. Date - April 27th. Location: Buford High School 4290 Tabernacle Rd, Lancaster, SC Opening Ceremony 6:00pm: Time to get started. We kick off the event by honoring everyone who's been affected by cancer. Survivor/Caregiver Walk 6:15pm Survivors and Caregivers are the heart and soul of Relay For Life events. We honor their strength and courage with every step they take. It doesn't matter if you were diagnosed 10 days ago or 10 years ago, you can walk while everyone gathers together to cheer you on. Luminaria Ceremony 9:00pm During this ceremony we represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria. Each light represents a life—a life taken by cancer, a survivor of cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It's a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers comfort and hope. Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer

Society. Relay is our opportunity to meet the

Six members of FBCL have joined with Quest Travel Group for a tour of Israel. The trip covers May 14-23, 2018. If you would like information about joining this group, please contact Mike Jenkins at 803-804-3447.

The month of April is the scheduled time for FBCL to collect food for HOPE in Lancaster. Items needed: canned chicken, peanut butter, jelly, canned peas, canned fruit, Vienna sausages, tuna, canned potatoes, stuffing mix, beef stew. For diabetic clients: 100% fruit juice, sugar-free jelly, oatmeal.
