Springtime is here and
that means it’s time for
RELAY FOR LIFE
Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer
Society. Relay is our opportunity to meet the
community, volunteer our time and minister to those who are
fighting and surviving cancer and remembering the friends and
loved ones who lost their battle against cancer.
First Baptist will sponsor and volunteer in the Survivor
Registration Tent. We need volunteers between 4pm and
7pm. You can help out a few minutes or the entire time!
There are changes to the time and location of the event this
year. Date - April 27th.
Location: Buford High School 4290 Tabernacle Rd,
Lancaster, SC
Opening Ceremony 6:00pm: Time to get started. We kick off the
event by honoring everyone who's been affected by cancer.
Survivor/Caregiver Walk 6:15pm Survivors and Caregivers are
the heart and soul of Relay For Life events. We honor their strength
and courage with every step they take. It doesn't matter if you were
diagnosed 10 days ago or 10 years ago, you can walk while everyone
gathers together to cheer you on.
Luminaria Ceremony 9:00pm During this ceremony we
represent everyone touched by cancer with a Luminaria. Each light
represents a life—a life taken by cancer, a survivor of
cancer, or a support for a person still fighting the disease. It's
a powerful demonstration that gives people the opportunity
to grieve but also offers comfort and hope.
If you would like to volunteer please see or contact Candy Threatt
