ndless stretches of unspoiled wilderness, dotted across 37,000 acres. Ten miles of the historic Blackfoot River. Three hundred head of resident elk. All nestled
beneath the most brilliant starlit sky you’ve ever seen. While the beauty of Montana is unparalleled, if you ask us, it’s the people of The Resort at Paws Up® who make this a place you want to return to again and again.
We love hearing from our guests and seeing The Resort through their eyes. And more often than not, it’s not just the things they did or the sights they saw—it was the staff member they were with who really made their experience special.
We’re so fortunate to work with people who are passionate about what they do and love nothing more than to share their wisdom with others—whether our guests are seasoned pros or trying something for the very first time.
Paws Up is home to chefs who don’t just place an order for supplies—they forage for ingredients in the forest. Our adventure guides go above and beyond to make sure that our guests have the time of their lives doing things they’ve never done before. And our wranglers consider this not just a job, but an honored family heritage that spans back generations. This is also a place brimming with artists and craftspeople who could find inspiration anywhere, and they choose to be here.
It’s been said that we don’t remember the words that someone says to us, but we remember how they made us feel. For this year’s program of events, we’ve chosen to honor the people who bring their best every day and make every experience unforgettable.
We hope you’ll join us this year at Paws Up. You know you’ll be welcomed with open arms.

WINTER
CHEF BEN SCOTTSous Chef
“Winters in Montana are long and cold, but there is no place more beautiful
to spend it in than at Paws Up. Winter cooking for me is all about bringing
comforting flavors to you after you’ve spent a day out on the ranch. We’re
inspired by the pristine mountains and rivers you’ll see while at The Resort.”
You won’t find any grapevines under the freshly fallen snow at Paws Up. But you will benefit from the fruits growing in the northern Napa Valley, where Kenefick Ranch has carved out a reputation for viticulture excellence. Come
get a noseful of these winter-welcoming reds as only the Kenefick family produces them. Get to know the distinctions between their wines with help from Caitlin and Chris Kenefick. These second-generation owners will host an informative library tasting and offer wine pairings with seasonal cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Sunny Jin.
Between sips, you’ll have time to explore Montana on a snowmobile or a horse. To fully relax, end your day with a glass of Kenefick Cabernet and a soak in a private outdoor hot tub.

As bright-green hues begin to return to the ranch, spring’s first crop of wildflowers sprout up from the earth. There are bunnies, of course, and lots of other creatures waking up and being born. For you and your little ones, there’s lots to discover.
From horseback riding and ATV tours to rejuvenating spa treatments, springtime at Paws Up offers adventure and relaxation. And when Easter Sunday rolls around, things really get hopping. In Trough, you’ll be treated to a bountiful Easter buffet. Kids will be busy with egg decorating, games and even a petting zoo. Keep an eye out for the Easter Bunny, who’ll deliver baskets and kick off the world’s most scenic hunt for eggs.
It’s rare to meet a superstar at the top of her game. And when the best of the best in food, wine and music head to Montana to collaborate? It’s unmissable. This spring, join us for an exhilarating weekend celebrating
the Wonder Women of Food and Wine. Some of the world’s most-talented chefs and vintners will bowl us over with inventive cuisine and exceptional pairings.
These women will also lead the way on exhilarating outdoor excursions. Plus, fearless musicians will bring down the house with live nightly music. Best of all, you won’t just witness this immense talent—you’ll be right in the middle of the action. Chef Kelly Fields, Eater New Orleans’ 2016 Chef of the Year, will be along for the ride, as will Chef Amninder Sandhu, a competitor on Netflix’s new culinary show The Final Table, and celebrated baker and confectioner Chef Valerie Gordon, a featured guest on Nailed It and Top Chef: Just Desserts.

COWGIRL SPRING ROUNDUPFOR ONE WEEKEND EVERY SPRING, COWGIRLS GET TO RETURN TO THE REAL WORLD.
April 25 – 28
In 1986, Diane Scalese and her husband started Sweetwater Silver in Montana, making spurs, bridle bits and other silver gear. With an interest in hand engraving, she began practicing and then searching for mentors, with little luck. Undeterred, Scalese went on to become a master engraver, earning the title of Engraver of the Year by the Academy of Western Artists in 2003. She holds master engraver status in both the American Custom Gunmakers Guild and the Firearms Engravers Guild of America.

They’ll lead demonstrations, trail rides and cattle drives while sharing their inspiring stories. Exceptional cuisine and luxurious accommodations only enhance this idyllic getaway. You’ll be surprised at how quickly friendships form and memories are made. Before you know it, you’ll hear yourself saying, “See you next year!”

Ashley Collins moved to Los Angeles in the 1980s, armed with little more than talent, a strong work ethic and a passion to paint what had always inspired her: the soul of the horse. Despite dismissals from the art world, Collins persevered. As she gained success, she also expanded her charitable endeavors, worked against human trafficking, provided for orphans, helped to build schools, supported cancer research and worked to protect wild horses and abandoned pets. Now an internationally known artist, she is recognized for her large-scale paintings inspired by the West.
