The 50-mile paved road was built in the 1930’s and is considered a National Landmark. The road is narrow, steep and winding with pullouts for viewing. Travelers should plan to spend 2-3 hours to complete the distance. Inquire at Park entrance stations regarding construction delays and vehicle size restrictions. Museum of the Plains Indian Rich collection of historic arts created by tribal people of the Northern Plains. Five - screen multimedia presentation. Open daily 9 a.m.– 4:45 p.m. during summer.
