The River's Edge Arts Alliance is proud to announce our new
logo design. In our effort to connect the dots of our
organization, we are re-branding in a bright, friendly and
clear way. We are still the same great arts organization
living and working in your community. Our aim is to have
the public look at our logo and know exactly who we are and
what art offerings we have available for our community. We
feel the new logo definitely sends a clear message in that
regard.
The design reflects what our organization encompasses. The
colors are bright and friendly without being trendy, and the
"flow" and colors of blue are in keeping with our River's Edge
theme. Each component of our arts organization is
represented clearly, cleanly and beautifully and we are very
happy about this major change.
We'd personally like to send out a thank you to Hudson
resident Gerry Kerdok, who designed the original Arts
Alliance logo more than twenty years ago. As with all of
Gerry's fine work, the artistry is beautiful and stood the test
of time. Her skill and balance was just what the Arts
Alliance needed when the organization became
incorporated. The original logo served our organization very

well for many years. Thank you Gerry, for all of your
contributions to the Arts Alliance.
Diane Ferris, River's Edge Arts Alliance contractor in Graphic
Design, has taken the ball and run with it, creating a
beautiful logo for all of us to enjoy. Her work on our posters
and flyers have caught the eyes of many and we are grateful
for the positive energy and color she brings to our
organization.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world", is a famous
quote by Mahatma Gandhi. We would love to be part of that
change and to see the world embrace the arts in a bright
and positive way. We think our new logo reflects that
feeling.

Join us for SynergiaAs we grow as a cultural society, it is imperative that we
find innovative ways to blend our resources to increase
the awareness and bandwidth of the arts and our culture
in any way we can. Massachusetts is a state rich in
history, culture and the performing, literary and visual
arts. We need to work tirelessly towards a vision larger
than ourselves and engage whole communities in more
profound ways.
By utilizing the blend of history, literature and art, we
not only educate our community about our past, but
engage the living and breathing artists in our hometowns
to help perpetuate the knowledge of that history to our
future constituents.

Youth Chorus Interview with
Assistant Director Sarah Worrest:
When did you join the Youth Chorus and what made you
join? I joined the Youth Chorus as a singer when I started the
third grade. I joined because I loved to sing, and it was an
opportunity for me to sing in a group. When I moved back to

Hudson as an adult and continued my work with the arts
alliance it felt like a good fit to come back to the chorus
that had meant so much to me.
What does the Youth Chorus do for you as a person and as
a performer? Singing in Youth Chorus has made me
articulate, versatile, and really developed my vocal
technique. I learned about blending and singing as a member
of a group, as well as singing in foreign languages and many
styles.
If you could say something to young singers about the
Youth Chorus that would encourage them to join, what
would it be? Being a part of the Youth Chorus is a fantastic
opportunity to explore a wide variety of music, it's also a
great place to meet other kids from different schools and
towns who also love to sing.
Why do you keep coming back to Youth Chorus? I came
back to Youth Chorus as an adult to keep learning about
music, and to have the opportunity to explore the variety of
styles and time periods of music that have always been a
part of the Youth Chorus repertoire. I love that students
from many local towns come together to sing interesting and
challenging music together.
What kind of music do you enjoy singing the most?
I love to sing the classical works in Latin like Vivaldi and
Lauridsen. But I also love African pieces with their
harmonies and interesting rhythms.
Congratulations to River's Edge ArtsAlliance Members:
Acton CommunityChorus on their 30thAnniversary.
Director Paul Johnson and Pianist
Susan Bishov recently received
citations from Senator Jamie
Eldridge for their achievements
with the chorus.
