MAYOR’S PARADE 2018
-CELEBRATING VOLUNTEERING--CELEBRATING VOLUNTEERING--CELEBRATING VOLUNTEERING-
SATURDAY 14 JULY
Sponsored by
I have chosen that during my year as Mayor to highlight the role of the volunteer. Barnsley’s strength is its communities, we should be proud that we have such a wealth of community groups and volunteers and I am proud that so many are here today.
The Mayor’s Parade is a great opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate Barnsley and the people who live in the borough.
The Mayor’s Parade is the start of many family friendly events taking place in the town centre this summer.
On Friday 20th July Barnsley will be hosting the Town Centre Cycle Races starting at 4.30pm with the Community Bike Ride which will be from the Town Hall.
Starting on Friday 10th August up to Sunday 19th August 2018, a Dance Festival is being held in the town centre. Building on the legacy of “Our Dancing Town” this will be a celebration of all types of dancing whether it is hip hop or salsa. So get your dancing shoes on - and “keep dancing”!
Thank you for joining in this special occasion and I would like to wish you an enjoyable family day.
