1.2 Navigation bar (Navigationsleiste)

The navigation bar allows you to access an application directly and switch between the different

applications.

You can also access the vehicle setting option and the configuration option from here.

Vehicle setting

The vehicle setting option is a central function of Xentry. It is used for vehicle

identification. The setting is automatically transferred when a Xentry application

is accessed, meaning that the user does not have to re-enter the setting.

Data card

You can get all necessary vehicle data of your selected vehicle with clicking on

the data card button.

Xentry TIPS

Xentry TIPS incorporates the established TIPS system with the option of

searching for current information on customer complaints and online case

opening. In addition, Xentry TIPS is linked to EPC net and WIS/ASRA net.

Xentry TIPS is started via the TIPS button.

Configuration settings

You can access the configuration settings via the button with the gearwheel

symbol.

Your user data are displayed here and you can change your settings as desired.

Press the "Apply" button to save your settings.

You can set the default brand for system startup.

If you wish a language setting that is different from the one provided please log

on to TIPS with your user ID and passwort and click on “Self administration” and

then on “Prefereces” on the left side.

The first language is the application language and the content language.

If a topic is not yet available in the language you have selected in first place, the

system tries to load the topic in another language based on the order of your

preferences.

If the topic is not available in any of your selected languages, the topic is

displayed in a "fallback language" (English).

the system and closes Xentry at the same time.

1.3 Upper control bar (Rahmenleiste oben)

The control bar contains a range of central functions and information that are available continuously,

depending on the selected application.

It is divided into three areas:

Right:

Navigation Elements, Title, Tabs

Brand

Selection box for selecting the desired brand.

Product group

The links allow you to jump directly to the listed information,

in this example Vans or Trucks.

Functions „Print“ and „Help“

The symbols for accessing the Print and Help functions are

permanently located at the top right. These functions operate

throughout the system.

When the Help function is started, the system takes into

account both the application the user is currently using and

where the user is working within this application.

1.4 Status bar (Statuszeile)

The status bar contains the following information and symbols:

• Logged in: Indicates the first name and surname of the user that is logged in.

• Displays the VIN of the selected vehicle

• Vehicle model designation (6-digit) or model series

• Sales designation

• M: Engine model designation

1.5 Content area (Inhaltsbereich)

The content area is where the user actually works with the system.

2 Xentry Ident

2.1 Brand selection

On Xentry TIPS, the selection box in the upper control bar is used for brand selection.

You can select the desired brand here and then apply the selection by clicking on the "Select" button

opposite.

You can set the default setting in the selection box in Xentry Settings. This brand is then preselected

for you the next time you start Xentry TIPS.

The brand selection is visible during the entire vehicle selection process and can be changed at any

time. If you change the brand during the vehicle setting process, the vehicle setting process restarts.

2.2 Vehicle selection

You have 2 options here:

• Set vehicle by entering an identification number (FIN/VIN)

• Set vehicle by selecting a product group, vehicle model (vehicle model designation), engine

model designation and transmission model

You can select one of the two options by clicking on the corresponding tab. When vehicle setting is

started, the "Identification Number" tab is highlighted by default.

2.3 Selection by clicking on the Ident Number tab

Here you can enter the complete identification number (FIN or VIN) including world manufacturer

code (e.g. WDC1631741A434939) that you would like to search for.

Then you click on the "Continue" button to confirm your entry. The system checks whether your entry

is correct and then finds the data available in FDOK for your selected vehicle.

2.4 Selection by clicking on the Product Group tab

Here you can set the desired vehicle via product group, model series and

vehicle/engine/transmission model designation.

After selecting a product group by clicking on the corresponding link, the model series that are

assigned to this product group are displayed.

an entire model series by clicking on "All". The next screen for selecting engine model designation and

transmission model then appears.

"Model", "Engine" and "Transmission". This takes you back to the corresponding position in the vehicle

setting process and allows you to repeat the vehicle setting process. Your previous selection is

overview.

You can finish the vehicle setting process by clicking on the "Apply" button. The vehicle setting data

are transferred to the status bar.
