Spectrum Battle Management Suite (SBMS)The Spectrum Battle Management Suite (SBMS) is our superior solution for providing C2 software systems for Radar-ESM and Radar-ELINT applications. The SBMS is field proven for spectrum dominance and gaining tactical situational awareness, allowing fast decision making coupled with commanding and controlling allied assets.

SBMS Key Features• Independent platform support for operation planning and post mission analysis• Our SBMS combined with the new HENSOLDT Kalætron® Radar Warning Receiver guarantees

situational awareness on all levels• Real-time displays for visualization of the electromagnetic spectrum, pulses and PDWs as well as

Radar signals• Data recording, playback and analysis of IQ data and Radar pulses available as post mission analysis• Radar EW track visualization dislpayed in 2D or 3D GeoMap

• Multiple configurations in terms of application perspectives for mission planning, Radar ESM tasking, equipment monitoring, analysis and reporting (adjustable on operators specific needs)

• Extensive Built-In Test Equipment (BITE) viewer for error and status reporting

The SBMS supports the following steps of Radar ESM operations

Mission Preparation • Generate Mission Data Files (MDF)• Setup Radar sensors (tasking)• Validation of MDF file with existing

emitter database• Replay of recorded scenarios• MDF deployment to platforms

Mission Preparation Mission Execution

Mission Execution • Command & control• Situational awareness• Detect Radar transmission• Emitter classification• Initiate counter measures• Recording

Post Mission Evaluation • Mission debriefing• Replay of recordings• Post mission analysis• Update of the threat libraries• Modification of new MDF files

Post Mission Evaluation Threat Analysis

Threat Analysis • Threat library evaluation• Identify new threats• Enhance threat database• Initiate the update of mission specific threat

libraries

Training • Train personnel by replaying

missions and scenarios• Judge the trainee’s reactions• Record the trainee’s actions

Additional Features for Radar ESM Operations

Real Time Operation Mode The real time operation provides the current rawpulse data picture with different parametersincluding frequency, Time of Arrival (TOA),Angle of Arrival (AOA), Δ TOA and Pulse Width (PW). Besides fully automated workflows an interactive operation is supported.

Analysis Displays SBMS provides multiple displays for analysis whilesupporting filtering of all parameters. With thispowerful function the operator can include andexclude single parameters for the analysis todelimit pulses of certain emitters. Available displays for analysis:• Polar display for pulses and emitters• Spectrum / waterfall• Graphical XY axis• Histogram• Long term statistics

Emitter Tracking

Emitter Tracking The view for operational surveillance providesa tactical map combined with a polar displayincluding emitters and respective tracklists.A polar display provides a navigator perspectiveof pulses and emitters. All objects can beselected within the different views and tracklists for identification.

Post Mission Evaualtion

Post Mission Evaluation Data recorded during mission execution can bereplayed using the functions for post missionanalysis and evaluation.

Map Support Command & Control

Map Support

Using the system navigation information, the inte- grated Geographic Information Support (GIS) enableson-map projection of the platform position includinghistorical records (e.g. flight path for airborne applications).Detected emitters are displayed on the map asstrobes. Map display is available in 2D or 3D with anelevation model for detailed mission analysis as wellas RF propagation analysis.

Command & Control

The C2 system provides monitoring of hardware components and their respective status in terms of performance and health. It combines a summarized report including a detailed BITE status with relevant settings for operation such as Mission Data Files (MDF) and acquisition modes. The operator can select different MDF during operation execution. An overview of actual BITE status is provided.

Offline Analysis

Operators can replay, stop and go step by stepthrough the recorded mission for detailed evaluation. This offline analysis is the basis for ELINT operationsbeing a sophisticated tool for analyzing unknownpulses and unknown emitters required by Radar EWintelligence. This is needed in order to prepare theemitter database, detections (signal) database as well as creating or adapting the Electronic Order of Battle (EOB).

Reporting The software enables creating reports which can beshared with other operators and workstations. This report function is interfacing dedicated databases for reporting as well as signal description.

Threat Analysis

DISIAN: Looking at Signals in Detail The DISIAN analysis component supports analysis ofTime Domain Samples (TDS) acquired by the system. It provides functions to visualize IQ data (signals) intime and in frequency domains.

For visualization of frequency SMBS is using spectrum and waterfall diagrams. Advanced functions to parameterize FFT (size, overlapping percentage) are included.

DISIAN provides functions to filter and for down converting (DDC) signals in a segregated working area.

Measurement Functions DISIAN enables precise measurement of time andfrequency parameters of DDC signals.

All measured parameters can be exported into anexternal database as well as being used forcreating new MDF.
