• Goal:
– Develop, deploy, and populate a web-accessible spectral
database with coverage from 0.4 to 15 microns
• Status:
– Database online today (http://chapman.cis.rit.edu/spectraldb)
• Schedule:
– Populate database with 2004 measurements including Trona by
10/15
– Populate database with historic measurements by 1/1/05
– Finalize additional instrument data structure
Project OverviewProject Overview• Past (Summer 2003)
– All 2002 metadata GIS searchable database
– Metadata searches linked to static webpages and downloadable data files
• Present (Dec03-June04)
– Priority: deliver a web searchable library– Switched to Unix platform database (& integrate with tracking) – Taxonomy– Streamline Metadata Entry– Incorporate NAIC standards– Flexibility multiple instruments, new users, materials…
• Future– Additional data formats (ENVI, DIRSIG..)– New instruments– Multiple instruments on same material– Link GIS geographic search capabilities

Mobile GIS Mobile GIS
The ArcPad (mobile GIS) software has been customized to allow the user to easily enter metadata information for the subject, ASD, and the D&P.
Allows you to use a base map or aerial photo of your location, and take waypoints by either selecting a location on the map, or by using a GPS unit.
Status: -ASD team deployed in June
-Review functionality with Trona team for improvements (hardware and software)
-Additional instrumentation to be finalized
