Last summer, against all odds, we celebrated 71 sensational years in the Bluegrass! Our season was short

but incredibly sweet. With the help of a small but mighty cast and crew, we were able to offer a two-week run of

one play, plus a stand-up comedy weekend! Yes, it was only one show compared to five, and yes, we had to

reduce our seating capacity by half…but we did it! We brought our fellow Kentuckians together (safely) during a

very difficult time, for some much-needed laughter.

We are proud of the fact that we were the only theatre in Kentucky, and one of the only theatres in the entire

country (including New York City’s Broadway!) able to offer live theatre during a global pandemic!

Thank you to all those who came out to support us! Thank you to all those who supported us from afar!

Many of you donated your 2020 season passes so that we wouldn’t be so hard hit when rolling around to our 2021

season. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

As you can see, we’ve changed things up a bit for our 72nd season. We're hopeful that life for all of us

will be back to normal next year, but because there's still uncertainty surrounding Covid-19, we wanted to be

cautious with our scheduling. We love the three plays we are doing, and we know you will too. Adding a live

music weekend to the mix, along with our usual stand-up comedy, will be a blast! Especially with Elvis “back

in the building!” We can't wait to welcome you all back to the Playhouse next summer!

We need your help! Last year’s reduced season at the mandatory 50% capacity seating definitely took

its toll on our usual box office income. On top of that, we were completely cut from state funding after decades of receiving crucial assistance.
