The flat roof demands in the first place systematicutilization for domestic purposes: roof terrace,roof garden. On the other hand, the reinforcedconcrete demands protection against changingtemperatures. Overactivity on the part of thereinforced concrete is prevented by themaintenance of a constant humidity on the roofconcrete. The roof terrace satisfies both demands(a raindampened layer of sand covered withconcrete slabs with lawns in the interstices; theearth of the flowerbeds in direct contact with thelayer of sand). In this way the rain water will flowoff extremely slowly. Waste pipes in the interior ofthe building. Thus a latent humidity will remain
