Spay/Neuter Statistics
Thanks to your donations and support, we are able to provide more help each year. If each spay/neuter surgery prevents two litters of unwanted puppies or kittens from being born the program has saved over 27,000 from a life of hunger, cruelty and disease.

Keep shopping on Amazon Smile www.smile.amazon.com and name SOS Animal Rescue as your charity.
Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases. So far for 2018, we have received $103!
If you see a sign like this in Midland County, we want to know about it. Facebook, Craigslist, yard sign, it doesn’t matter. We can help get the cat fixed. Stop this madness of eight million kittens born with no where to go. We receive endless calls to take kittens, rehome them, or help them because they are sick. We would rather receive the call that says help fix the cat. Send us the link, telephone number, or address and we will follow up.
kroger Community Rewards:

Great news this year: NO need to re-enroll,but if you haven’t already signed up, please do so to
help the animals. Our number is 91497.So far this year, Kroger has donated $54!

Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
Fix the cats, the litters stop, the need for rescue is greatly reduced. We would rather spay one cat than deal with the kittens. (Left: Car load of cats to get fixed. Right: two mom cats that we have tried to catch for over a year. We finally got them.)
Another TNR success: Princess has been fixed and rehomed and whose owner said she just had her ninth litter of kittens.
kitten Season
The summer is the toughest time of year for a rescue because it is kitten season. Unfixed mom cats start having litters of kittens in early March and it goes nonstop until November. This mom cat had seven kittens under a trailer. One died early on. She is too little to meet the demands of feeding the remaining six. She becomes rail thin, the kittens are always hungry, health declines. Unless someone intervenes, the story does not end well.
Luckily this mom cat has a better story. The owner of the trailer brought her inside. One of our fosters took them all when the kittens were about 12 days old. Another foster took two of the smallest kittens and bottle-fed them so mom cat only have four left to feed. Everyone is doing well. Mom cat is still very thin but the kittens are all gaining weight and appear healthy. So this one litter relied on three people, three different homes, and a ton of care to make it. What drives us crazy is all this time, effort, and money could be avoided by spaying mom before she goes into heat. Tell the world if they really love animals they would get them fixed. It is really that simple.
Mom cat and six kittens will be ready for adoption around September 1. Let us know if you are interested in giving one of them a new home.
