#GivingTuesday Giving Tuesday has been running in the UK since 2014 (and in the US since 2012). It now runs officially

in over 60 countries worldwide and people from over 150 countries take part in the global giving campaign.

We would love for you to join us and do something with your reach. It can be anything from highlighting your favourite charity and asking people to support their Giving Tuesday activity to engaging your staff

or customers in a Giving Tuesday activity with the proceeds going to a good cause – this list really is endless, you can make it as big or small as you want.

#MYGIVINGSTORY #MyGivingStory will run from 2 September to 4 November 2019.

#MyGivingStory is an opportunity for you to encourage your staff and board members to share on social media how they support a charity or cause, by sharing their giving story.

We hope #MyGivingStory will foster a public conversation about generosity and inspire more people to give and to give in more ways.

How do you get started? Participating in #MyGivingStory is as easy as 1 – 2 – 3

1. Ask your staff, board members, and wider community to share their giving story on their personal social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) using the hashtag #MyGivingStory and tagging the cause they support. Their #MyGivingStory can be as long as a video or as short as a Tweet, you can see some examples here

2. As a business, you can encourage your employees to talk about how they use your payroll giving schemes, volunteer days, or match-funding to support a cause that’s close to their hearts. You can then share these #MyGivingStories stories via your organisational social media channels, in your newsletter, on your website, etc.

3. If you know someone who has a #MyGivingStory, nominate them to share their story.

#GivingTuesdayPledge • As Giving Tuesday falls on a day when most people are in work, we know there are lots of people out there who

want to do something but just can’t. For this reason we have decided to launch the #GivingTuesdayPledge to get more people involved in the campaign.

• The pledge allows people to make a commitment to do something good, at a time that suits them for their favourite charity or a brand new cause.

• We will have a Giving Tuesday Pledge page on the website where we will host charity pledge requests so visitors can see exactly what they can do to support a charity they care about. Why not encourage your staff to visit the website (coming soon) and make their own #GivingTuesdayPledge?

• Your employees can pledge to: Volunteer for a charity or organise a larger team volunteer event with staff

Donate pro bono hours to help charities in need of your skills

Organise a donation drive for people to donate goods, clothing and other items to those in need
