These members have the right to vote athe Annual Business Meeting, hold office and serve on the Board of
Directors.
Student
he Student membership is for individuals enrolled in a rigorous
ourse of study, education institution or training program applyingo the M&R function. These members are not entitled to votingrivileges, may not hold office, and may not serve on the Board of
Directors. Membership in SMRP is beneficial for students becauseexposes them to a vast network of skilled professionals who canrovide valuable insight into the M&R industry.
Executive Corporate Member
Practitioners, defined as persons employed to apply the use ofM&R tools and methodologies in order to maintain and improveperformance of their company’s assets, can collectively joinSMRP under their company’s name. The Executive Membershipencompasses four packages, including “Basic, Enhanced, Super Premium, which range in benefits based on how many employee

Executive Industry Partner Member
An Industry Partner in SMRP is a person who provides tools,
materials, methods, training and consulting to Practitioners inthe M&R fields to help practitioners maintain and improve theperformance of their company’s assets. Industry Partners typicallwork for equipment suppliers, training providers, collegesand universities, companies that provide testing services, andconsultants. Like Corporate Members, Industry Partner membersis broken out into four levels: Basic, Enhanced, Super and Premiu

Chapters
SMRP’s chapter program began in 2006 as an effort to connectM&R professionals and promote business connections throughoutlocal regions. With various workshops, conferences and planttours scheduled throughout the year, chapters provide low-costeducation and career development services for professionals
at every point in their career. These local organizations striveto build leadership skills for early and mid-career professionalsand provide an avenue for professional growth with the variouschapter leadership positions.
Each chapter is unique in size, member background and industryrepresentation. Please visit www.smrp.org/chapters to view aregional chapter map. If you live in an area that doesn’t currentlyhave a chapter, the SMRP website has the necessary documentsand information to help members form their own.
Shared Interest Groups (SIGs)
Shared Interest Groups connect practitioners in specificmanufacturing industries and create a community of membersto share knowledge, experiences, industry trends and bestpractices. These groups help facilitate members in the educationand achievement of world-class reliability and maintenance bestpractices.
There are currently SIGs for several industries, including mining,water and wastewater utilities, pharmaceutical and biotech,and oil, gas, and petrochemical, but members are invited toform additional groups. Members can start by getting 20 othermembers to sign a petition that is approved by the Board ofDirectors.
Membership DirectoryThe Membership Directory is available to all SMRP members,allowing each member to look up the status of their membersalong with other members within in SMRP. Members can searctheir colleagues and other members by fields that include namorganization, email and location.
Job Board
The SMRP online job board is available to all members, compaand nonmembers seeking part-time or full-time employmentor looking to fill an open position. Individual members canbrowse through available jobs or post their resume online, whmember companies can post jobs and view posted resumes fother members. Job searches can be filtered by title, location,description and type to help job seekers find the perfect fit.

• E-Proceedings – searchable database containing hundreds SMRP Conference proceedings from 1999 to the present
• E-books – contains SMRP’s Guide to the Maintenanceand Reliability Body of Knowledge, Best Practices, GlobalMaintenance and Reliability Indicators, and the SMRP GuideMaintenance Work Sampling
Executive Meetings
SMRP Executive Meetings are offered three (3) times each yearexclusively to SMRP Executive Members. These meetings are anopportunity to network with your peers, learn about M&R operatand best practices, and discuss any issues facing your industryor SMRP. The meetings are held in different locations throughoutNorth America, and always include a facility tour unique to the aExecutive Member companies may send up to five (5) employeefree of charge.

Solutions is the bi-monthly publication created for SMRP membe

Approved Provider Education ProgramThe SMRP Approved Provider Education Program started inApril 2015 as a way to recognize Industry Partners who conductcontinuing education that aligns with the most relevant topicsand best practices in the industry according to the SMRP Bodyof Knowledge and/or the Asset Management Landscape, which
is published by the Global Forum on Maintenance and AssetManagement (GFMAM). SMRP Approved Providers gain anadditional level of acknowledgement for their education andtraining offerings, while helping practitioners feel confident theyare receiving quality training.
SMRP evaluates Approved Provider applications based on thefollowing criteria:
• Course content
• Learning objectives
• Instructor qualifications
• Learning environment
• Marketing and course materials
• Course delivery and logistics

Government Affairs ProgramOne of SMRP’s goals is to amplify the reputation and awarenessof the maintenance, reliability and physical asset managementindustry and SMRP as an organization with policymakers in theU.S. Members will have ample opportunity to participate inSMRP’s government relations program. Opportunities includeauthoring white papers or position papers, testifying on behalfof a specific industry at Congressional committee hearings,
meeting with Congressional members during the SMRP LobbyDay, and commenting on policy issues in government-focusedpublications. Participation is voluntary, but SMRP encourages itsmembers to join the program and let their voices be heard onCapitol Hill.
Scholarship AwardsTo help promote continuing education and encourage thenext generation of M&R practitioners, SMRP offers scholarshipsfor students each school year. The SMRP Scholarship andSMRPCO Dorothy and Jack Nicholas Scholarship award $2,000to students majoring in engineering or other maintenancefocused-degrees at a four-year or two-year program. TheSMRP Higher Standards Scholarship awards $2,000 to students
that are family members of SMRP members, regardless ofconcentration, who are enrolled in an accredited college oruniversity.
Scholarship applicants are judged on the basis of grade pointaverage, work experience, extra-curricular activities, leadershipactivities and merit.
CMRP of the Year AwardsEvery year, SMRP honors two member M&R practitioners fortheir contribution to the industry and the organization. TheRising Leader Award honors professionals with less than 10years of experience and the Veteran Professional Award honorsthose with 10 years or more of experience. Applicants are
judged on the following criteria:• Leadership – includes notable employment positions held,
volunteer experience, knowledge sharing with peers, andprofessional awards earned
• Positive Effect of Accomplishments – what positive impactone’s M&R accomplishments have had for an employer/customer/client
• Continuing Education & Professional Development– academic coursework relevant to M&R; educationworkshops, seminars and other training relevant to M&R
• Current CMRP certification
Veterans ProgramSMRP recognizes the unique skillset soldiers acquire while on-duty – servicing and operating on equipment, plus managingoperations and people. Veterans who worked as techniciansfixing and maintaining equipment on military aircraft, ships andcombat vehicles are very well qualified for jobs maintainingequipment and production levels in manufacturing plants.
SMRP prides itself on helping veterans use their skills learnedoverseas to translate into lasting civilian careers outside of themilitary. The CMRP exam is offered to veterans at a discountedprice, and the entire cost of the exam is reimbursed by the G.I.Bill.
SMRP Committee InvolvementMembers are encouraged to join one or several of the manycommittees that make up SMRP. Joining a committee givesmembers additional opportunity to meet other members,enhance their skills, and make a greater impact on theorganization through their involvement. There are over 10committees, with each serving a specific purpose, rangingfrom educational program oversight to member services andoutreach.
Sustaining SponsorsCompanies looking to get further involved in the mission ofthe certification governing body, SMRP Certifying Organization(SMRPCO), can do so through a Sustaining Sponsorship. For
just a $1,000 annual contribution, companies will receive amultitude of benefits, including:
• $205 discount for employee CMRP exams; $55 foremployee CMRT exams
• Representation as a voting member on the SMRPCOAdvisory Council
