In that role, Mike has not only helped us shares the history ofSouthwest Virginia, the Preston family, and the New River Valley with guests to theplantation, but he helps with everything from heavy lifting to portraying a "spirit" for ourHalloween event. His thirst for information and joy in sharing the history is alwaysevident, regardless of the context in which he helps. In addition, Mike is probably one ofour most gentle and caring interpreters; he truly seems happy to help and enjoys his timeat the plantation. He easily interacts with children as well as adults on the tours and cancarry on conversations on many subjects.
