Smith & MadishaOVERVIEWSmith and Madisha Construction commenced operation in 2011 after seeing a gap in the market due to their many years of involvement in the Building Construction Industry with regards problems, issues and stumbling blocks that influence the completion of projects on time as well as the required quality of these various types of projects. As a 51% black woman owned group as well as having a Level 2 BBBEE rating we are seen as a leader in the construction industry within Gauteng.

Jan S SmithDirector
Ramakone Alice MadishaDirector
With a National Higher Diploma in Building Science to his name, Jannie started his career with Basil Read and worked his way up through the various management levels of Basil Read, subsequently moving to Concor as director of Concor Building in 2008. In his various careers within the construction industry he has worked for a number of major clients including Rand Merchant Bank Properties, Investec, and the Mines Pension Fund.
He then started his own company and successfully completed various large projects. His company merged with C-PRO CONSTRUCTION and he was a partner of this entity before starting Smith Madisha along with Alice Madisha in 2011.
Jannie has an enviable reputation for delivering prestigious projects for major clients on time, within budget and to the right quality far exceeding the Client and Professional teams expectations.
Alice has a National Diploma in Quantity Surveying and a B-Tech degree in Construction Management. She has experience in tendering, site management with particular reference to various aspects on programming, information flow, measuring and managing construction work in the private sector on a number of high profile projects with Growthpoint properties to name one.

We offer clients the following services:
• Pricing of an accurate Bill of Quantities from the approved drawings issued by the Architect with worksheets and actual market related component prices to establish a market related price for the project. This can be used for a well run and transparent adjudication process.
• Training in monthly evaluation of projects.
• Assistance with the Contract documentation in order to ensure that the conditions of Contract are fair and equitable and capable of fulfilment.
• Training in all legal compliance documentation relating to the construction industry.
• A watchdog role for the consultants in order to keep the Client/Council fully apprised of a project at all times. Recommendations to the Client/Council on what actions, if any, need to be taken to ensure the success of the project.
• Advice and training for emerging Consultants and Project Managers in their roles and responsibilities during the project to ensure that they will become proficient project managers being able to deliver the Client’s needs in future.
• All training is accredited with the Services SETA.

PARTNERSHIPS
Smith and Madisha Construction have partnered with Leago Sehahle and have designed a range of womens safety clothing which adheres to the relevant PPE standards within the construction and mining industries.
The safety clothing range which has been patented and is designed according to SANS 511:2011 provides flexibility with regards the use of PPE and serves the purpose of workwear which portrays a dignified image but, at the same time, adheres to safety standards.
She’s Alice’s range caters for the different weather/climate experienced in South Africa whilst ensuring the fabrics are approved as safety wear and protective clothing as mandated by law.
The clothing range consists at present of work shirts, overalls, jumpsuits and waistcoats.
Care has been taken to ensure that the fabrics that were chosen for the range are in accordance with SANS 511:2011

Smith Madisha Property Point Incubation Programme
Alice Madisha graduated from Property Point’s two-year incubation programme which means Smith Madisha now have the opportunity to be considered for larger projects within the property industry.
This initiative forms part of the enterprise and supplier development initiatives of South African real estate entities Growthpoint Properties and Attacq.
Other
Smith and Madisha re members of the Womens Property Network (WPN) as well as being candidates for funding from the Enterprise Development Property Fund (EDPF). Additionally, Smith and Madisha are also members of SASACPCMP.
