1. Accurate Temperature ControlSmartForm™’s proprietary heating system originated from advanced heating technology developed for the Aerospaceindustry. This technology has been adapted to integrate a superior heating system, optimized for efficient and uniformheat transfer to the balloon mould. With the highest levels of control to deliver uniform heating, a consistent and evenballoon DWT from proximal to distal can be achieved on balloon lengths up to and in excess of 300mm long. The heating system also facilitates the use of a wide range of temperatures on both the forming and set stages of the cycle, to accommodate the variety of materials that is required from one balloon design to the next. Infinite temperature selections are possible, which optimize material properties and enable accurately controlledcompliance growth. Defined forming and set temperatures deliver a predictable, repeatable and lower level ofshrinkage, a key factor in controlling finished catheter dimensions, post sterilisation.
2. Precision PressurizationSmartForm™’s temperature control, combined with a unique high pressure control systemaccurately displaces the required amount of pressure and volume to control thetiming and position of the balloon form. This level of control is key to formingthe highest quality balloons with defect free and superior, thin cones, essentialto controlling the balloon profile for folding, wrapping or rewrapping andseamless transition across delivery sheaths. The pressure control can be rapidlyincreased and decreased when balloon definition and shape is critical along with thedisplacement of material from the balloon necks when it comes to the most demandingcatheter profile requirements.
3. Variable Speed StretchingThe technology’s stretching capability aids the control of even material displacement before, during and after the balloonform. This feature delivers accurate forming from small coronary or neurovascular balloon sizes, to large esophageal orgastric balloon sizes of up to 50mm+ in diameter. The technology is completely flexible and adaptable to a variety offorming processes, with independent proximal and distal stretches and added speed control, creating an advantagewhen forming differential low profile neck design requirements. Along with control of the timing of the balloon form, the rate of material displacement is optimized to achieve even DWT right into the balloon cones and necks.
