Our manufacturing methods and technologies are second to none. Every Carver model has a

solid fiberglass hull bottom and an all-composite stringer system—an uncommon industry practice.

This provides a sturdier structure, lighter weight, and more strength. We never use wood below the

water line, eliminating the potential for core deterioration from water penetration, and further

protecting the structural integrity of engine mounts.

We use quality aluminum for floor framing. It offers a lightweight advantage to wood floors, and

eliminates the creaking and warping common to wood floor frames.

The seamless construction of our aluminum electronic arches provides optimum strength and

rigidity. Other manufacturers use fiberglass for their arch construction, which adds bulk and is

more susceptible to stress and cracking.

Our models are fully featured with the standard equipment you’d expect from a luxury yacht

investment. Carver includes convenient amenities and practical features as standard on all models.

They include air conditioning, onboard generators, windlasses, and spotlights—yachting necessities

Structural

HULLS AND BOTTOMS

Less weight, more strength. All Carver hulls and bottoms are made with

Knytex, a crisscross knitted fiberglass that ensures maximum strength. Knytex

substrates provide optimum resin-to-glass ratio which reduces weight without

compromising strength, and promotes better adherence of laminate layers. By

creating a solid fiberglass bottom with no coring, we help eliminate the

potential for structural damage from water penetration around through-hull

fittings. This also lowers the boat’s center of gravity and maximizes underwater

strength. Selective use of woven roving substrates on all components provides

additional strength levels in key reinforcement areas.

Carver is the first, and currently the onlycompany to use superior Knytex fiberglasstechnology to ensure maximum strength

and reduced weight.

No wood below the water line. The backbone of every sturdy Carver hull

is an all-fiberglass stringer system, an uncommon industry practice. The

composite fabrication provides lighter weight and more strength. More

importantly, it helps prevent the potential of core

deterioration from water penetration and

of engine mounts.

All our specialized manufacturing efforts are intended to sustain vessel strength, resist deterioration, and prevent

water intrusion—steps that extend the life of every Carver Yacht and further reinforce your investment.

Most significantly are the measures we undertake to assure hull longevity. We never use wood in structural

components below the waterline, the first step to ensuring a durable, longer-lasting hull structure.

Quality assurance throughout. Exhaustive testing and vigorous inspections are

conducted at each step of the manufacturing process. Molds are meticulously

maintained and polished at precise intervals to ensure consistent quality. Resins

are carefully monitored for purity and consistency. It’s all done to ensure

unsurpassed structural and component integrity that also results in a smoother,

beautiful surface finish.

Maximum strength-to-weight ratio. Hull and deck side coring reduces weight

and improves rigidity.

Overlap joints give added strength. Hulls are joined to decks by precision

overlap joints to eliminate the “hinge effect” of less effective flanged hull-to-

deck joints. This provides extra strength in high-stress areas and creates a more

durable seam. Mechanical fasteners every 4" to 6" around the perimeter assure

consistent, reliable fastening. A polyurethane sealant supplements the joints for

added protection.

DECKS

Unitized deck construction. Deck, cabin top, and cockpit are fabricated as a

single unit, to provide greater structural integrity and less “racking” and flexing

than common “layer-cake” construction materials.

Reinforced and integrated. Aluminum truss reinforcements constructed of

tubular and bar stock aluminum are laminated into each deck/cabin top unit to

structurally integrate the flybridge with the deck.

Deck, cabin top, and cockpit are fabricated as a single unit, to provide greater structuralintegrity and less “racking” and flexing thancommon “layer-cake” construction materials.

Structurally sound arches.

While some manufacturers produce

fiberglass arches, which add bulk and

are more susceptible to stress and

cracking, Carver’s custom-designed

electronics arches are seamlessly

constructed of premium-grade

aluminum for optimum strength.

Facing the elements. Seat frames on all exterior seating and lounges are made with synthetic materials, not wood

or plywood. Molded or dimensional high-density polyvinyl carbonate bases provide longer life and lasting

appearance. Our exterior upholstery fabrics are designed for maximum performance in the marine environment.

The fabrics are surface-treated to prevent UV damage and mildew. Upholstery is also sewn with baseball stitching

using UV resistant thread for added strength and maximum wearability.

Sturdy, secondary bonding. All furniture and components are bonded directly to the original, properly prepared

fiberglass surface instead of bonding over gel-coated or painted surfaces. Knytex knitted fiberglass is used for all

secondary bonding, providing better strength and more durable bonds.

Come-aboard convenience. Boarding platforms are made of all-fiberglass with skid-resistant surfaces and include

a ladder to allow for easy boarding.

Canvas that goes the distance. All canvas tops are

custom fit to each model and made from 100 percent

Sunbrella®. A high-standard material, the fabric is

remarkably durable in harsh marine environments.

The canvas material is cut and hand-sewn by our in-

house craftspeople to assure consistency of shape.

Zippered attachments and higher-quality Velcro®

roll-ups make onboard handling easy. And for

additional durability, we use scratch-resistant, 60 mil

Strataglass™ that’s UV-protected and impervious to

the “foggy” appearance that lesser-quality materials

take on over time.

EXTERIOR SURFACES

Preparation against peeling. All Carver boat bottoms are sandblasted with glass

beads in preparation for bottom paint. This time-consuming step assures paint

adherence and virtually eliminates the “peeling effect” that can occur with

chemical surface treatments, which are unreliable and inconsistent.

High-performance surface coatings. Using premium-grade gel coat improves

adhesion and provides maximum flexibility for increased resistance to cracking

and crazing. Gel coat application is manually gauged to ensure proper and

consistent coverage. This enhanced protection makes Carver vessels more

resistant to water penetration, minimizing the likelihood of blistering. And it

creates a higher luster that is more resistant to fading and chalking, plus offers

easy maintenance that requires less buffing.

A barrier to blisters. By also adding a vinylester barrier coat, we create an

exceptional barrier between the gel coat and fiberglass. This extra layer of

protection virtually eliminates the migration of water through the laminate hull

structure to prevent the formation of blisters.

METALWORK

Plated installation for optimum

with full aluminum plates. This

significantly reinforces fixtures

like rail stanchion feet and cleats

to help spread the torsional load,

prevents the loosening of fasteners, and increases the life of mountings. With

aluminum plates securely in place, the risk of damage due to water penetration

is virtually eliminated since moisture isn’t absorbed. A step that’s rarely

practiced in the industry, aluminum plates provide more lasting strength and

reliability than wooden coring or basic aluminum washers.



StructuralI n t e l l i g e n c e

Maximum corrosion-resistance in all metalwork.

The best protection against corrosion starts with

using the best materials. That’s why we use 316

stainless steel, a more rigid, dense material on all

rails and cleats. Rail systems are then continuous-

welded in sections for increased strength and

reliability. Additionally, rail stanchion bases are

double-welded inside and out for a maximum-

strength “one-piece” finish that also prevents

surface corrosion. Stainless steel rails are lineal-

buffed and polished to create a superior, jewel-

like finish that’s equally corrosion resistant. And

all exterior welds are ground and polished to

minimize the potential for surface corrosion.

Flow-through ventilation captures air from the high-pressure zone under the forward edge of the

bridge to allow for fresh outside air to flow through the main cabin while underway.

WINDOWS

No-leak windows. Our frameless, aluminum truss window systems have a positive flange

seal with polyurethane adhesives to virtually eliminate the water penetration that’s

common with gasketed frame window systems.

Light and airy. Frameless windows allow for larger window panels, thus more light, with

more elegant and interesting architectural shapes. Flow-through ventilation captures air

from the high-pressure zone under the forward edge of the bridge to allow for fresh

outside air to flow through the main cabin while underway. Free-flow air vents can be

opened or closed depending on preference. The deck and hull side coring also serves as

insulation to help control internal temperatures.

MATERIALS

Contemporary materials made by traditional, handcrafted means for both beauty and

durability. Carver is the first boat manufacturer to introduce the use of a superior solid-

surface countertop material, standard on all models under 45'. The anti-stain, entirely

practical material is cut and assembled onsite to ensure a quality fit and finish. On all our

elite series models, genuine granite is splendidly used in countertops and floors.

Wood that makes the grade. Carver uses only quality-grade woods harvested from the

top one percent of U.S. forest production. Real-wood cherry and maple are used on all

Carver models, never plastic, and are finished by hand using a 6- to 8-step method to

better retain the beautiful and durable high-gloss finish.

Luxury and livability. We’ve incorporated sapele pommele, a beautiful African burl wood

in our salon and stateroom countertops and in door inlays in select models. Until now,

this luxurious and expensive wood could only be found in mega-yacht interiors.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

Handpicked, hand-cut, hand-sewn. Carver designs and manufactures all upholstered

components, soft goods, exterior seating, and bolsters in-house. Color-coordinated

upholstery and drapery fabrics are specially selected, meticulously cut, and hand-sewn

with precision in our own Upholstery Shop. All mattresses, pillows, and bedspreads are

handcrafted. Using a top design house, styles are updated annually. Designer fabrics are

then treated with Scotchgard® for maximum durability and stain resistance.

Handcrafted furniture and cabinetry are meticulously built onsite by skilled

woodsmiths. Carver’s handcraftsmanship is unparalleled in the industry in both detail and

quality. Every wood part and component—doors, drawers, cabinets, bulkheads—are

produced in-house to maintain the highest control over quality standards.

Built boat by boat. Wooden dowel joints are fashioned the traditional craftsman’s way, a

method that is more costly but provides greater strength overall. Marine cabinetry is

assembled with extra care using stainless steel fasteners inserted through pre-drilled holes.

All cabinets are drilled, glued, and screwed—no cold steel self-tapping screws—and

where appropriate, seams are tongue-and-groove jointed for added strength. Durable,

Euro-style hinges are used on all doors.

Solid, hand-assembled materials. Solid head doors and archways are assembled,

doweled, and glued the old-fashioned craftsman’s way for a stronger, tighter fit.

Stateroom comfort. All motor yachts over 40' feature innerspring mattresses in the

master staterooms for maximum comfort.

WIRING

No cookie-cutter wiring. The power needs of each individual vessel are

determined only as each one is manufactured. All wiring is measured per boat

and hand-cut to the exact specification of each model. AC and DC electrical

panels, gauges, and breakers are assembled and installed right in our facility.

And a computer-tested assembly process is used to ensure that all electrical

capabilities are in working order prior to final installation.

Carver’s just-in-time wiring ensures a perfect fit and our steadfast efforts toward

corrosion-resistance guarantees performance.

Secure connections. All wire connections are machine-crimped using tinned-

plated brass connectors to ensure precise tensions and a perfect connection every

time. Battery connections are also machine-crimped for additional reliability.

Wired with common sense. Each harness assembly is machine-tied every

6 inches for a clean, tight fit. The harnessed, color-coded wires are

individually labeled and detailed in the owner’s manual for ease of

troubleshooting. All 12V harness sections are joined with pin connectors, and

12V and 110V accessories are hardwired. Buss systems on the bridge allow

installation of additional components. And because we take pride in our work,

every harness is personally signed by a technician for accountability.

Safe, reliable power. An aluminum AC breaker box provides added protection,

keeping AC breakers continually grounded and isolated in the event of a short.

Magnetic circuit breakers provide a more stable transfer of power and eliminate

tripping due to heat and humidity. The electrical bonding system links metallic

underwater components to help minimize the effects of stray current

electrolysis. And the galvanic (zinc savers) or isolation transformers maintain the

safety of the yacht’s electrical grounding system while protecting the underwater

hardware from electrolysis damage.

PROPULSION

All systems go. Manganese-bronze rudders and struts provide a harder, more rigid material to withstand

deflection loads, and provide more precise response to navigation input, as well as transfer of propulsion

loads. Structural engine mounts, including linear span rails used on the Voyagers, are designed to

transfer the weight, torque, and thrust of the propulsion system to the structural components of the hull.

Maximum corrosion protection. All wire is tinned copper strand for ultimate corrosion resistance,

durability, and high conductivity, and connections are sprayed with silicon for added protection. Engine

harness plugs are uniquely injection-molded to prevent water and salt penetration into the back end of

plugs, thereby further eliminating the possibility of corrosion. Engine plugs and harness connections are

also silicon-coated for extra protection. Battery cables are custom-designed to an exact fit on each

Carver model and heat shrunk to help prevent corrosion, and any butt connections are also heat shrunk.
