Step 1: locate and remove factory skids and recovery points
1 Remove Factory Skid plates, air dams,
and recovery points
The front Right and Left air dams, and fac-
tory front and middle skid plates will need
to be removed.
The factory rear (transfer case) skid as-
sembly will be retained.
Right Air Dam
1. Remove 5 retaining screws and
1 plastic nut
Left Air Dam
1. Remove 4 retaining screws and
1 plastic nut
Skid plates
1. Remove the 15 circled pieces of
hardware.
Factory Recover Points
1. Remove 4 bolts and recovery
points

Step 2: Install Front Skid and Recovery Points
Step 1: Installing clip nuts
2 Loosely install the front skid plate.
Start all bolts, but leave them loose.
Reinstall the factory recovery points.
Install Oil Filter and Drain Covers
Do not reinstall the tiedown “L” brack-
et with the recovery points
Hint: it will be necessary later on to be
able to move and slide this skid around for
fitting subsequent pieces, don’t tighten
and hardware.
Hardware:
8 - M8 x 30mm Flange Head Bolt
8 - M8 Thick Fender Washers
4 - 3/8” x 1” Stainless Flat head Cap Screw
4 - 3/8” Clip Nuts
2 - 5/16” x 1” Carriage Bolt (Oil Drain Cover)
2 - 5/16” GR8 Nut
2 - 5/16” GR8 SAE Washer
2 - 5/16” GR8 Lock Washer
3 Install 2 1/2” cross member bolts
Remove and replace the outer crossmem-
ber bolts with the supplied 1/2” x 5” GR8
bolts
Once the bolts are in pace, slide on the
1/4” extra thick spacers (Pic on next page)
Do not install other washers or nuts at
this time
Hint: It may be necessary to loosen the
other 2 crossmember bolts to align the
holes for the 1/2” bolt. Using a floor jack
to move the crossmember slightly may be
necessary.
Hardware:
2 - 1/2” x 5” GR8 bolts
2 - 1/2” SAE Flat washers
2 - 1/4” extra thick spacers
Step 3: Replace outer crossmember bolt

Step 4: Spacer before skid plate
Step 4: Slide skid over 1/2” bolts
Step 4: Install remaining hardware
4 Loosely install the middle skid plate
Support the back of the middle skid by
sliding it onto the 1/2”.
Make sure the spacer from step 3 is
between the skid plate and cross
member.
Loosely install remaining middle skid plate
hardware and push the installed skids as
far forward as possible.
Hint: Support the back of the middle skid
by sliding it onto the 1/2” bolts.
The skid plate may need to be moved side
to side and up and down to achieve bolt
hole alignment
Hardware:
4 - M10 Flange Head Bolts
4 - 3/8” x 3/4” Flange Head Bolts

Step 5: install rear skid on 1/2” bolts
Step 5: Loosely install the rear skid plate
Step 6: tighten all hardware and check clearances
5 Loosely install the rear skid plate
Slide the rear skid onto the 1/2” bolts.
Loosely install the washers and nuts
Loosely Install the 3/8” flange bolts
Loosely Install the carriage bolts
Hint:
It may be necessary to pull down on the
rear skid to get the 3/8 flange head bolts
line up.
It may be necessary to push the entire
skid system forward to start the 1/2” nuts.
Hardware:
2 - 3/8” x 3/4” GR5 Flange Head Bolts
2 - 3/8” x 1” carriage bolt
2 - 3/8” SAE GR8 washers
2 - 3/8” GR8 lock washers
2 - 3/8” GR8 nuts
6 tighten all hardware and check clear-
ances.
Securely tighten all hardware
Don’t forget the 3/8 flange head bolts
that are now hidden from sight.
Clearances:
1. Check that there is a minimum 0.100”
clearance between front skid and right
side sway bar at full suspension droop
2. Check that there is minimum 3/16”
clearance between the rear skid plate
and the transfercase
3. Check the perimeter of the skid system
to make sure there are no parts of the
skid touching parts of the chassis.
