SKOLASAJF Skolasajf is a nationwide project organised by FES, offering non-formal education during the summer months. Children between 3 and 16 years of age may attend for a programme based on themed activities and outings. Localities where service is offered: Localities are determined at the start of Skolsajf on a yearly basis, depending on the exigencies of the service. The service is offered in centres around Malta and Gozo, utilising the premises of State Primary Schools and Resource Centres. Parents can select the locality of their choice; however each centre offers the same programme of activities according to official guidelines issued by FES. Opening Hours Monday–Friday from 08:30 to 12:30 An extended service for working parents is also offered in selected centres, from 07:00 till 08:30 and from 12:30 till 17:30. CHILDCARE CENTRES FES OFFERS QUALITY CHILD CARE SERVICES IN ORDER TO SUPPORT AND STRENGTHEN THE FAMILY UNIT, GUIDED BY THE UNDERLYING PRINCIPLE THAT THE FAMILY IS THE BEST ENVIRONMENT FOR PERSONAL GROWTH. THE MAIN AIM OF THE CENTRES IS TO OFFER A PERSONALISED SERVICE OF QUALITY CARE FOR ALL CHILDREN.

Child care centres provide care to babies and toddlers aged between three months and three years. All centres are registered with the Directorate for Quality and Standards in Education and follow the National Standards for Child Day Care Facilities (2006).

Children are offered a personalised service of quality care. Working in partnership with primary caregivers, each child is empowered to develop in all areas in a fun, caring and stimulating environment. Parents are offered the opportunity to invest in their child’s future through positive learning opportunities, social experiences and personal empowerment.

Opening HoursMonday–Friday from 07:30 till 16:00

The service is offered in the following localities: Birgu, B’Kara, Bormla, Floriana, Marsa, Pembroke, Qawra, Qormi, Santa Venera, Siggiewi, Naxxar, San Gwann, Żebbuġ.

THE FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (FES) IS

A PUBLIC ENTITY WITHIN THE MINISTRY FOR EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT.

IT WORKS CONCURRENTLY WITH THE EDUCATION DIRECTORATES TO PROVIDE A RANGE OF INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL

INITIATIVES TO SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY. FES IS COMMITTED TO ENSURE

THAT ALL SERVICE USERS ARE SUPPORTED THROUGH

NON-FORMAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES.

KLABB 3-16THIS IS AN AFTER-SCHOOL HOURS’ SERVICE FOR CHILDREN BETWEEN 3 AND 16 YEARS. IT IS ALSO PROVIDED DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS TO CHILDREN WHOSE PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE IN EMPLOYMENT OR WHO ARE FOLLOWING A REGISTERED EDUCATIONAL COURSE.

The programme consists of activities such as arts and crafts, drama and storytelling, physical education and games, cookery sessions, science experiments, activities related to technology, educational talks and workshops that are linked to monthly themes. 

Klabb 3-16 also offers a safe environment for children to do their homework. Qualified tutors, in possession of a teaching warrant, assist children in their homework.

Opening Hours Monday-Friday from 14:00 till 18:00Holidays from 07:00 till 17:30

Localities where service is offered: Service is offered from various State Primary Schools across Malta and Gozo, depending on whether there is sufficient demand for the service.
