SKILL UP delivers a broad range of professional development opportunities for all levels, skills and abilities. Staged in the Scottish Borders for the !rst time the SKILL UP 2011 weekend will host European facilitation, an enhanced programme and a focus on the funding challenges that face us all.

TANJA SPRINGERDirector of the JUNGE AKTEURE, Germany

Tanja studied in Cultural Sciences and Aesthetic Practice and has

worked at several key theatres in Germany. Her 2010 production BIKINI was invited by the Goetheinstitut to tour northern Europe. JUNGE AKTEURE (YOUNG ARTISTS) is part of the municipal theatre of Bremen, Germany and focuses on contemporary theatre with young people.

SUNE TØNNING SØRENSENDirector of Education at FILUREN, Denmark

Sune has an MA in Dramaturgy from Aarhus University, specialising

in interactive storytelling, systems theory and drama education. The term “nerd” has been bandied about quite a bit… this does not bother him in the least. FILUREN is a children’s and young people’s theatre based in Aarhus, Denmark.

PETER HUSSEYArtistic Director of the CROOKED HOUSE THEATRE COMPANY, Ireland

Peter is a writer, director and drama facilitator and lectures in Applied Theatre for the National University of Ireland. Peter is also an arts consultant and trainer having worked in Ireland and abroad for over 20 years and returns to SKILL UP having previously facilitated in 2009.
