§ Public Consultations events from early 2019
§ Public events across the area including Leiston, Theberton, Middleton, Sizewell, Wickham Market and Darsham – detailed confirmation later this year
§ Based on latest thinking on transport, workforce & accommodation aimed at minimising disruption & ensuring positive legacy benefits
Why Sizewell C Should be Next
Sizewell C Community Forum 2018 © NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED 7
The case for building Sizewell C is getting stronger. The development of the station is necessary for the UK’s energy future: § Sizewell C will be competitive with other low-carbon technologies § The risk (hence the cost of finance) will be reduced with four reactors of same design operating by the time construction would begin § The cost of building Sizewell C will be reduced by using a mature UK supply chain. High % of UK companies in Sizewell C supply chain – much higher than other technologies § Sizewell C will provide highly skilled and well-paid employment & contracts for local businesses § Sizewell C will have very low connection cost.
Benefits for the East of England
Sizewell C Community Forum 2018 © NOT PROTECTIVELY MARKED 8
§ Sizewell C will be a catalyst for development of top-end engineering, construction and manufacturing across the region
§ The East of England is the only region with the potential for two new nuclear projects
§ UK businesses secured 64% of total construction spend on Hinkley Point C
§ The Sizewell C project could create 1000 apprenticeships during construction
§ So far, 1,300 companies from this region have registered on our supply chain portal
§ Regional economic benefit could be up to £200m per year during construction with total of £4 billion over the lifetime.
Sizewell C Planning Update
§ At the last Community Forum we reported on feedback received from Sizewell C Stage 2 Consultation.
§ That feedback has now been fully reviewed and will be taken into
account for Sizewell C Stage 3 Consultation.
§ The following slides provide an overview of the work currently being undertaken to inform Stage 3 Consultation.
§ We will not be commenting on what proposals may be included at Stage 3 Consultation.

§ The SZC team has been busy since the last Community Forum meeting stakeholders with an interest in the project development.
§ We met more than 4,000 people at this year’s Suffolk Show.
§ The team ran an exhibition stand and took part in a Science centre led by the County Council.
§ We also engaged with a wide range of stakeholders including the County and District Councils, the Chamber of Commerce, local landowners and representatives from the region’s leading colleges.
Community Engagement and Outreach
