What‘s new

New lead-types– Corner to describe shields

– Blob to describe leads of any shape: for example oval: or undefined shape:

What‘s new?

Component face-down recognit.

Pattern-fiducial:– it is now possible to teach any pattern on PCB as

a fiducial. For instance: corners of circuit pathes

Area used as ficucial

What‘s new?

Autosave of failed component measurements– By analysing the stored dumps you can see why

the components were rejected.

This is a really big help to find and avoid errors and lower reject rates.

How to program- Preparations in SiPro

Already existing GF:1. If not yet done set the correct type in SiPro.2. If not yet done add digital cameras.3. For standard components SV will use ICOS-GF-data => Do not mark checkbox

„Requires seperate group description“!!!4. Only mark checkbox for components that have leadtypes ICOS does not

know! For example: Shields (corners) or components you described with „blob“ leads.(Teach these components on the station before production!)

5. If possible / required check „Detect flipped Component“.6. If you get error messages during optimizing correct existing GFs according to

optimizer‘s messages. For example: Lead tolerance <50% of lead size

New standard GF:1. Enter the correct dimensions (X,Y,Z) to pick up

the component correctly.2. Set type to „Baredie“ – you dont have to

describe leads then.3. Teach the component on the station (and set the

correct type).

Do not check!

It is not necessary to create leads here!Leads will be created through Sipl. Visionby teaching the component on the station.

The Siplace Vision groups are disabledbecause Sipl. Vision will use ICOS groupsfor components with standard lead shapes(Gullwing, J-Bend, Wraparound, Ball)

New special GF (shield, sockets, „blobs“, …):– Describe the GF correctly for the ICOS system.– Set the type baredie.– Mark checkbox „Requires seperate group description“– Test the component on an ICOS machine.– Teach the component on an SV machine and set the

correct type.– By teaching on the machine the lead groups for SV will be

written to SiPro database.

With seperate group descriptions SVhas no effect on ICOS lead groups. So you have to describe them manually.

How to program on the station

General things– First make sure the dimensions and geometry are

correct– If the GF does not run with an exact geometrical

description adust illumination– Adjusting algorithms is the very last step and only

needed in rare exceptions!

In case of an error scroll through the list of measuresteps and find the failing step.

Look at the filters. Is it the correct one? Are the dimensions of the filter correct?
