Other than the women’s team who represented the nation for this qualifier, our referee pairs

were present too as they were nominated to officiate the games. They are namely Carmen Teo

& Lin Bin Bin and Tan Yew Kwan & Marcus Lee Hong Sheng. For the latter pair, it is their

debut referee appearance on an international stage. The former pair was rewarded for their

outstanding performance with the opportunity to officiate the finals between Japan and

Australia.

II. TOURNAMENT

(i) Overseas Tournament

There are two overseas competitions that have seen many of our local players participating,

namely: Australia Floorball Open (AFO) and; Jeju Island Open.

teams in the competition. As for Jeju Island Open 2016, Singapore has two teams participated

in the competition. Kudos to Team U Sports Liitto FC for clinching the top placing in the

IV. EVENTS

(i) Car Free Sunday

This programme initiated by Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) will be held on the last

Sunday of every month. On 26th March 2017, Floorball was included in their list of activities

for the public to try out.

Both Men’s and Women’s team players were down to engage the public in trying out Floorball.

From teaching them the basics of Floorball to playing a mini game with everyone who was

present, it was a fulfilling experience for our national players.
