My influences

• The two videos that I will used to take influences from are • Professor green- read all about it • Wretch 32- don’t go • The reason that I have pick these two songs to take influences

from is because I believe that these two songs not only match the same style of my song but the videos are similar.

Visual style• I like both of the visual style that read all about it and don’t go use as I feel

like that the two videos show two different sides of this type rap music, read all about it has a darker visual style being inside and in the dark a lot where as in don’t go it has a lighter side using bright visual styles like the sun. Both of the visual styles used in the two videos match the type of song and I will take both types of visual styles and make my video better.

Read all about it uses a dark visual style as it matches the mood of the song

Where as Don’t go uses a bright visual style that changes the way the video is seen like.

Editing

• Both of the two songs used the same type of editing with maybe read all about it being a little quicker then don’t go but overall they both use a slower type of editing with slow cuts and I think is would work better of my video as it match the pace of the song.

Use of colour • Like I said before in visual styles I will take influences

from both of the two videos and bring the best of both worlds into one video. I think that I will use the colours from read all about it more then don’t go as the darker colours match my song better then the lighter side in don’t go.

Cinematography • Both of my videos try to focus on the emotional side

of people as they spend a lot of time using close-up shots so we can see how the artist feels by his facial expression.

• In don’t go when ever the artist in walking or standing in a crowd there is always shallow focus used so that we only focus on the artist of the song.

How this will influences me?

• By looking at two music videos from the rap genre that have two difference styles it has giving me so ideas for my own video. One thing that I have got from the two is that I should use close-up shots as it will let my audience see the emotion on my face as it helps set the mood of the song. Due to the type of song I am doing I think that I am going to follow the editing that has been used in these songs slow cuts that work with the pace of the song. I think that I want to use the visual style from read all about it as it is a lot darker and I think this would work better with my song.
