SIFF Executive Director Without YOU there would be no

SIFF

I would like to take a moment to recognize the enormous creative contributions from this community that have made SIFF possible. I started this idea on a crazy whim, with no certainty of the outcome. When my computer informed me with no equivocation that it would not be putting up with the continuous effort needed for the creative venture that is SIMS, I thought SIFF would fall by the wayside, but nooooo… From day one the members and mentors at Simatography and the greater SIMS community were on board with enthusiasm. It was this energetic response that kept me going, even though I had no playable SIMS game of my own. So here we are, wrapping up our first ever, very successful, SIFF, all the while fueled by the creative efforts of so many, even when I could not contribute as planned. So here I am creating this souvenir to thank each and every one of you for your support and contributions, and looking forward to many more successful SIFFs to come! That’s all for now, my new computer has just been delivered. A new era is about to begin! Minraed Arzhel

real stuff about the SIFF

Artistic Directors

I've always enjoyed writing, especially supernatural gothic horror, and began at an early age. I

never imagined that I'd see my ideas, characters and plotlines actually materialize visually. It's

awesome seeing them come to life on the screen. My goal is to become an author or director.

Although I'm still learning the art of machinima directing, voice acting and audio production,

I'll happily offer advice to anyone who is planning on making movies using TS3 game engine.

The Voice Master

I was introduced to the world of TS3 after

watching a friend play, and thought the engine

would make an awesome tool for creating movies.

Hence, I'm relatively new to machinima, but am

continually striving to learn more as a director.

Through this art I've made several new friends,

many of whom are here at Simatography, which is

awesome.

Not So Fearless Leader

I was a simmer back in the days of the original Sims

games, but only now with Sims3 have I become involved

in the creative community at large. I am obsessively cre-

ative by nature, but never very focused. This is what I

love about The Sims3 - there are endless creative

possibilities! I have a passion for music, culture, design,

décor, film and photography so you can see why I enjoy

Simming so much. I am looking forward to many years

of creative ventures with all of you.

The Paparazzi Princess

Story-telling is a very serious thing [OK, maybe not

always]. Our species still relies on story-telling, the oral

tradition (especially in this technology-driven world of ours)

to maintain connection with each other; to understand

each other by vicariously trying on each others' shoes and

feeling "Simpathy" [sic]; to make sense of our world and

to allow our imaginations to 'run free' (or amuck if

necessary). Now that we can read & write, we can add

them to our skills of using gestures and making pictures to

tell our stories. Imagination is the greatest tool that we

possess. And then along comes Simatography!

Crescent Moon Pye

aka C.M.Pye

Where else can you pretend to exist in a limitless Movie Studio environment, a Sillywood

that has never-ending resources, collaborating with other story-tellers and having fans as if we

were all the most appreciated, creative geniuses in the world? I love this funny little place that

we have made up together. [I prefer it to the real world at times, because the real world is not always

kind].

This tells you more about me than any list I can give you of what I have or haven't done in

my life. This is what I think. C.M. Pye is me allowed to be me without restriction or judgement.

You have all been very good to me and good for me. And I Thank You all on a daily basis even

if I don't say so.

If you insist on real info: I got a B.G.S with an Emphasis in Scientific Illustration and a mi-

nor in Biology. It means that I can draw dead things and stuff that doesn't move. In detail.

The Welcome Wagon

Like me, IdaNoReally loves to laugh. We are a bit alike in

many other ways too. She is a loner and we both enjoy sol-

itude. Even though I am a bit of a recluse, if I am here on

the forum, you will find me friendly and approachable. I en-

joy making others laugh. Having a good sense of humor is

paramount to me. The perfectionist trait does not seem to

bother IdaNo but, being a machinima artist with this trait is

a bit unnerving at times. When the finished product is

something I can be proud of this trait pays off big time. IDA No Really

I have been playing The Sims since TS1. It was not until TS3 came out that I decided to delve

into creating a movie. My first few videos are real losers. My skills have improved with time and

practice. I can honestly say machinima is the most enjoyable activity that I have found in a long

time. As for Simatography? I enjoy this community immensely as well. It feels like home. Let

me know if I can ever help you with anything. I will do my best.

The Queen of Cheese

Me in a nutshell! Mum of two beautiful

girls, mad cyclists, a little bonkers, and a

confessed fan of bright colored willies!

I’m the one in charge of Molly’s Machinima

challenge. This particular challenge is how I

got into machinima myself, and I always

encourage new film makers to enter, just to get

a taste. Despite having a fair few successful

machinima under my belt, I still strive to do

better. Molly

I was honored when asked to be a moderator at Simatography. The site is not even a year

old and yet so much has been achieved. I can only put this down to the fantastic moderator

team and the extremely creative member’s we are so luckily to have. xxmolly

Aussie Guy in a Hat

Well known in many Sims3 circles, the creative,

friendly, funny and supportive Mmyoko has been a

member of Simatography since day one. He is known

for his fantastic and whimsical machinima though

lately he’s been feeling a bit of creative block so we

hope to see more from him soon. In the meantime if

you catch him at Simatography he’s always up for a

friendly chat.

Mmyoko

SuperPogimon

35mm of Creative Perfection

In the world outside of Sims3 he is a computer

game addict and an architect in the Philippines. His

two main Sims3 creations are in building and

simtography. In building he takes his time with every

detail, but does not like doing landscaping. In

photos he NEVER edits - with a little creativity and

patience there is no need and it shows in his fab-

ulous photos.

Pogimon trivia: he loves hotdogs and chocolate,

is afraid of ghosts, and does not smoke.

Pogimon has contributed his artistic talents to Simatography in many ways

including creating our logos and the SIFF festival awards!

The Viewer’s Choice Pick

for Official SIFF Poster

We had several fantastically cre-ative submissions for our first

ever festival poster. Francis’s

was the first submission and in the end won out in the viewer’s

choice polls by a mere ONE

vote! Dalach’s poster was then selected by The Mare’s Nest to

become the pattern for the SIFF

t-shirts. Umi submitted two fan-tastic entries, both falling into

top 4 positions. Thank you

everyone for your submissions!

Simulated Pictures International

or SPI for short

SIFF was looking for a venue to

call home. An office for the

artistic directors to work, and a

place for Gala events and film

premiers to take place. And of

course, a grand Red Carpet for

the stars to strut their stuff.

Freynas stepped up to the

challenge and created the most

spectacular theatre imaginable,

to all SIFF contributors

and participants

We hope that everyone has enjoyed this first ever

installment of the Sims International Film Festival.

When it started out we didn’t know where it was

heading, along the way it took on a life of it’s own, and

overall it was a huge success.

SIFF will come again in the Fall of 2010 and we

would like to know how we can make it even better.

What would you like to see changed, or stay the

same?

What could we have done to make it a better experi-

ence for you as a film maker?

How can we make it a more fun experience for every-

one - both contributors and fans?

Drop by Simatography or YouTube and give us some feed-

back by messaging any of the Simatography moderators.
