Dear Shrine Faithful,

The 2nd Sunday of Lent is here and we continue our march towards Easter. These past few days have been filled with “spiritual pick-me-ups”. The Festival of Forgiveness provided 24 continuous hours of confession and all-night Adoration. Yesterday was also the Couples for Christ Lenten Retreat that the Shrine hosted for a second year in a row.

Today we renew the 20 minute instructional series “Lessons in Liturgy” hosted by Canon Joel Estrada. Each of these mini-instructions will take place after the 10am Sunday Mass and coincide with the time for 1st Communion class. While the children are in one room, the parents, older siblings, and any Shrine faithful who wish to grow in knowledge and love of the Liturgy will be in St. Benedict Hall. Coffee is served.

This week the additional devotions continue. On Friday, March 6th please note the time change for the Stations of the Cross. The Stations will be at 6pm because there is the 1st Friday Votive Mass of the Sacred Heart at 7pm. Then this coming Saturday is both the feast of St. Thomas Aquinas and our Lenten Recollection. High Mass will be at 8am followed by breakfast and two conferences.

Last, but not least: don’t forget to RSVP for our annual benefit dinner that will take place on Saturday March 14th… the deadline is tomorrow!!Venite!
