The digital heart of the house

The New Livebox and its set-top box were designed by Orange to integrate seamlessly with home equipment. Both components can be placed side by side or in different rooms; they communicate wirelessly over a Wi-Fi connection.

Attractive and compact, the New Livebox and its set-top box feature a plastic housing with a scratch-resistant grained texture. They operate silently, thanks to optimized thermics and vent design.

The front display panel of the New Livebox is activated when a person’s presence is detected, displaying information on service status, then turns itself off so that no light is emitted.

The thin, elegant remote control has been simplified: it is more ergonomic, has fewer buttons and longer battery life, and functions in Bluetooth mode. It can activate the New Livebox functions even when the Livebox is in a closed cabinet.

Quick and easy installation and maintenance

Step-by-step instructions for installing the New Livebox and set-top box are available in the “Ma Livebox” application and on a dedicated web page. The user receives a text message when all the stages have been completed.

Compatible equipment can be connected easily without entering a code using the Wi-Fi pairing button on the front of the New Livebox.

If the set-top box detects a problem, it initiates diagnostics and guides the user with messages

displayed on the TV screen until a solution is found.

The New Livebox can self-correct if it detects a problem. If a user action is required, it displays a message on the front display panel or on the administrator interface. If repair is required, the New Livebox contacts customer service itself.

If the New Livebox has to be replaced, the settings and Wi-Fi access code are saved on the network and restored automatically, without any need to go through the configuration process again.

Livebox - Airbox ConfortA box to connect to the Internet in 4G

Livebox – Wi-FiHigh-performance Wi-Fi giving the whole family access to very high-speed Internet in every room of the house

The essentialsPair a 4G box with the New Livebox to get Internet access outside the home or while traveling when no Wi-Fi is available, access the Internet immediately after subscribing (before the ADSL or fibre connection is set up), and have backup if the Livebox is down.

Innovation by OrangeOrange associates an Airbox Confort box with the New Livebox Internet service, allowing Internet connection through the 4G mobile telephone

The essentialsWatching television, playing online video games, surfing the Net... with the extended Wi-Fi of the New Livebox, very high-speed Internet can be accessed on several screens at the same time, from every room in the house.

Innovation by OrangeThe Internet connection is up to four times faster with optical fibre and the ac Wi-Fi antennas of the New Orange

network (or 3G if no 4G service is available) and gives immediate access to the Internet, even before the fibre or ADSL connection is operational.

If the Internet service is down, Orange provides additional mobile data automatically, free of charge. Connected to the mobile network, the Airbox runs all equipment via Wi-Fi. Connected to the New Livebox by USB, the Airbox recharges and retrieves the New Livebox Wi-Fi codes so that it can take over.

Any object synchronized with the Airbox (speakers, tablet, smartphone, etc.) is

Livebox. The ac Wi-Fi of the New Livebox (one 5-GHz Wi-Fi with four emitter/receiver antennas and one 2.4-GHz Wi-Fi with three emitter/receiver antennas) can reach speeds of more than 1.9 gigabytes per second.

The ac Wi-Fi of the New Livebox offers maximum, constant and uniform speeds across the entire area served for viewing high-speed videos or transferring large files to the cloud. The Wi-Fi’s name, access and hours of activity can be

immediately recognized by the New Livebox, and vice versa.

personalized. The WPS button (Wi-Fi Protected Setup, the network standard for simple, secure Wi-Fi) on the front of the New Livebox allows devices to be connected quickly and easily, and the “I” button (information) provides the security key if it has been forgotten.

It came into being as the result of an original and innovative approach: by measuring consumer interest via Ulule, the leading European platform for participatory financing. The number of advance orders needed to initiate production was reached in just three days, and the telephone will be marketed to the public soon.

Availability:

- NeoRetro telephone: customers who ordered it on the Ulule crowdfunding platform have already received the phone. Available for public sale in May 2016;

an indelible mark on the collective memory. Drawing inspiration from the 1930s, Orange’s designers came up with a landline phone featuring the technology, functionality and materials of the present. It breaks free from its wires and adopts the uses and technologies of the modern era: LEDs monitor its status, the volume button is at thumb level, and a surface sensor turns the earpiece into a Bluetooth

HD Allure Telephone: Orange designed a thin telephone on a narrow base for the home. Beneath its elastomer layer, soft buttons provide simple navigation of the menus. Red and green LEDs light up contextually and the screen displays each hour in a different colour. The earpiece delivers HD sound and becomes a speaker when the telephone is put down. An indent in the back allows the phone to be held between the shoulder and the ear.

Personalizable remote control for the new set-top box: Orange studied daily uses to come up with a streamlined, simplified remote control for the set-top box. In easy-care rubber, it features raised buttons for navigation of the contextual menus on the screen, even when the room is dark. Its clean lines make it an attractive object on a coffee table, and its shell can be personalized with a selection of materials such as wood or bamboo.

connectivity solutions for each use;

the distribution of connected objects in a catalogue of premium products;

value-adding services related to those objects, particularly in the health and well-being field and in the connected home with Homelive;

the storage, security, processing and delivery of data from connected objects with Datavenue.

My LoRa® NetworkLocate connected objects with a long battery-life beacon

The essentialsUsing a beacon based on LoRa® technology connected to the Orange network, an object or a house pet can be located with an application.

Innovation by OrangeBy putting a little LoRa® beacon on a house pet or an object such as a bike, a bag or a keychain, they can be accurately located on a map using a special application. With a long-life battery lasting several months, the beacon can also be used to indicate your location if you need to call for help, or to detect an attempted theft.

To make network coverage as broad as possible, even inside buildings and basements, Orange conceived an innovative densification approach: incorporate a mini LoRa® antenna in a lamp with a modern design. In addition to providing light, the lamp acts as another relay point for Orange’s LoRa® network.

Trust badge Control how applications use your personal data

The essentialsKnowing and choosing how personal data collected by applications are used.

Innovation by OrangeOrange created the “trust badge” to inform the user and allow him/her to control how their personal data is used in mobile applications. or not activating the data-sharing with the “trust badge”.

To protect kids, the “trust badge” allows the application’s uses to be checked,

such as a purchase function or sharing with social networks.

The “trust badge” is visible in the App stores before downloading and in the application.

The “trust badge” is gradually being deployed in Orange’s applications and will also be used by digital players and businesses which have made a commitment to joining this transparency and responsibility initiative.

Practical information

- release date: 1st quarter of 2016 in France, initially on My Orange and Family Place apps. Extension to other Orange applications in the 2nd quarter of 2016;
