    Our Vision

  • What Shiksha Kunji is all about:

Shiksha Kunji, an initiative of Social responsibility cell of XIMB, is a platform which aims at

facilitating education of children from weaker sections of the society. The initiative channelizes

support from the XIMB family (Student, Staff, Alumni and Faculty), towards a brighter future

    for these children.

Shiksha Kunji was launched officially on 14th of November, 2012 with an objective of

educating at least 80 children in the academic year 2017-18.

This programme is implemented in partnership with schools which are selected through a

rigorous selection process. The schools in turn suggest students to Shiksha Kunji who are in

need of assistance to pursue education. The students are evaluated based on educational

records, family and economic background. Each selected student is provided assistance in

terms of school fees, books, uniforms and miscellaneous education expenditure. The

partnering schools in 2014-15 were ASHTAR (29 students) and Loyola Odia Medium school (11

students). The number of students under the programme has gone up to 40 in the current

    academic year.

Our Targets for Academic Year 2015-16: Ensure the education of at least 50 to 55 students for the academic year 2015-16 An addition of affiliated School by the academic year 2015-16. In addition to new donors, retain at least 75% of the existing sponsors Addition of a minimum of 10 new sponsor. Implement and follow policies to ensure complete transparency and honesty in all

    transactions.

Generate sufficient surplus to sustain education of at least 20 students each year till 2017-18.

Conduct impact assessment for all students on a half yearly basis.

  • Our current Affiliations:

ASHTAR (ASIAN SOCIETY FOR HUMANITY, TOGETHERNESS AND

    REHABILITATION)

ASHTAR, operating since 7th Jan, 2001, was set up to impart education to children from

weak financial backgrounds at a subsidized cost.

Besides providing education, the school also ensures overall development of the children by

organizing various cultural events, vocational training workshops and community

development sessions. This better equips them for employment later on in life.

ASHTAR is recognized by the government of Odisha and follows the state syllabus.

    LOYOLA ODIYA (RAINBOW) SCHOOL

The school was first started with a view to providing tutorial support to children from nearby

slums. After the merger of Loyola and Rainbow School in 2008, it transformed into a full-

    fledged school

Currently, there are over 600 students enrolled in Loyola Odiya medium school, fromclasses UKG to 10th.

  • Our Supporters:

Integral parts of the programme are the donors who hail from the XIMB community

(students, faculty, Alumni and staff). The programme maps each donor to a beneficiary. The

donors are provided with information regarding the performance of their wards through bi-

annual reports. Our donors include the alumni from 1987-89 batch of XIMB.

Team Shiksha Kunji also reached out to its benefactors through various functions like Grand

Home Coming, Sanidhya (Alumni Home Coming), Convocation and other such

    celebrations.
