National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)

The NRO designs, builds and operates the nation's reconnaissance satellites. NRO products, provided to an expanding list of customers like the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Department of Defense (DoD), can warn of potential trouble spots around the world, help plan military operations, and monitor the environment.

The main page for the proposed Wiki structure will feature a matrix linking instructional strategies to online technologies. Each online technology on the horizontal axis will link to a wiki page describing the application of the online technology to support learning. At this level of the SLIDR, we will categorize the online technologies according to function, rather than product. For example, the category of Synchronous Chat includes multiple products with synchronous chat capabilities in use across the IC – JABBER, SameTime, IWS, NGA CollabraSuite, IC Connect, etc. We will derive the list and initial academic definitions of instructional strategies from an existing World Wide Web tool called the Instructional Design Knowledge Base or IDKB, developed by Dr. Nada Dabbagh of George Mason University. Each instructional strategy on the vertical axis will link to a wiki page describing the instructional strategy along with descriptive examples of how to activate learning via that instructional strategy. The examples will encompass face-to-face and online learning solutions.
