SGG COOL-LITE SKN double-glazed units

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 and SKN 154 II aresolar control products with high performancecoatings. The coatings are applied toSGG PLANILUX clear float glass by cathodicsputtering under vacuum conditions.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 II forms part of theever-evolving range of "to be toughened"neutral solar control coatings fromSAINT-GOBAIN GLASS.

In order to achieve its superior thermalproperties, solar control properties andneutralappearance, SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 II mustalways be toughened or heat-strengthenedbefore assembly into a double-glazed unit(coating on face 2).

These two products are designed for useside-by-side within the same façade;SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 in annealed formand SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 II intoughened/heat-strengthened form.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 and SKN 154 II meets the durabilityrequirements of class C of European standards EN1096-1 and -2.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN154 and SKN154 II are twosolar control coatings for use in residentialor commercial buildings alike, either forfaçadesor overheadglazing.Due to theuniqueproperties of the coatings, they are ideallysuited to applications requiring annealedand toughened or heat-strengthened glass.

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 is designed to offerexceptional solar and thermalperformance:

optimum U-value of 1.0W/m2K

neutral appearance both in transmissionand exterior reflection

good levels of natural light transmission

SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 can be used toimprove the energy efficiency of buildingsby considerably reducing overheatingand the need for costly air conditioning.It is particularly suited to large areas ofglazing where superior solar controlperformance is required whilst at thesame time noticeably reducing excessiveheat loss.

The technical performance andaesthetics of SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154(annealed) and SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 II(to be toughened/heat-strengthened)are identical. SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 IIcan be toughened from stock enabling aquick turnaround for toughened/heat-strengthened double-glazed units.Together, these two coatings can beused to produce exciting and innovativeprojects within a short timescale. Thereis the additional advantage, therefore,of a short lead time for replacements.

• SGG COOL-LITE SKN 154 is available in6000mm x 3210mm dimensions, in 6, 8and 10mm thicknesses (12mm availableon request) allowing for over-sizedhigh-specification units.
